Its a phase..she's "rebeling"..Theres really..nothing you can do..she'll eventually grow out of it..but its hell until she does...If she is doing drugs..keep an eye on her..One of the worst things you could do, is confront it UNLESS theres a serious problem. Its there isnt..your going to make her upset..she'll end up doing more drugs..and then will become a problem. The best thing to do, is just keep your eye on her until she gets serously out of control. If need be, tell your parents she needs help. Talk to her about it first though. Dont make her feel cornered...

i'd like to say it's a phase. emo is the 'in' thing right now; i had a brother go through the same thing. most likely she's hanging out with the wrong crowd and suffering from peer pressure and the desire to fit in. you should probably speak to her about the scars on her wrist, as that seems to be the most dangerous problem. if you don't think any harm will come from this phase as a result, though, I suggest getting a fridgerator magnet that say 'cheer up emo kid' and try to ride out the storm.

first of all **** you there is no such thing as "emo" the phrase is a made up term invented by stupid *** kids who cant understand what some of the ppl who act like what you call "emo" think but if your sister is acting like that dont worry she is just trying to find out who she is how she wants to be portrade in her life but cuting wrists thats ****** up you need to tell her that that is very bad because she has no reason to cut her wrists and drugs the worst she is doing is smokeing a bit of weed every now and then just make sure she know about other drugs and what they can do to her i wish you and your sister the best of luck and i hope this helps

My little bro just got into the kind of crap. Its very irritating. Hate whole "I hate the world" **** is very annoying. he cuts, and listens to Hawthorne Heights like non stop loud in his room. Do what I did, grab your sis and just ask them if their doing and drugs. Try to relate to her, though, or else she wont listen to you. And regardless of what you say, most likely, shes going to do what she wants anyway. Just make it clear its NOT cool, and not good for her or her reputation. I tried, and my Bro listened, i think...but i hope it works out better for you then it did for me. But I'm pretty sure it'll pass...think of all the eyeliner she'll have to buy if she doesn't give up this emo ****...lol jk...but seriously good luck.

My daughter is 13, I don't know if it's the EMO stage or goth stage, but she's going through the same thing,Well not all of what you explain but the dark hair, black clothes, black everything. My oldest went through it also ,she is now 16, and normal again,,lol,,,If she is doing outrageous things especially hurting herself then you should tell your parents,She could have emotional problems.

I'm in 9th grade and I know emo people, i think its just a phase and the only reason she does it is because of the people around her at school. You should talk to her and tell her, its not cool..... haha.

It is the gayest thing. How the hell does this **** get trendy?
Back in my day it was screwed up. I used to do it because I was all messed up, but I hid it, because I was (rightly) ashamed.
Tell your sister you care about her, and her health, and if she ever needs to talk ,she can come to you.
Then if she does, try not to freak out, because you might be the only safe outlet she has.
Good luck with that!

You know, teenagers grow through just about every stage of labels.

They were once into rap and hip hop, then jumped to Hollister/Abercrombie + Fitch clothing...then comes to Emo. What's next?

EMO...my personal opinion: "just let them die out"
well, i have the same problem with friends. At first it was a big deal but then as time pass it just fade out. They get bored once they're gone all out.

I think it could just be a phase and that whole emo thing is gay and it died out in 2002, you should introduce her to something else, tell your parents show them her scars...
