diabetic neuropathies - but I'm not diabetic.

I Know I'm not - as my parents are and my doc and I check every 3 months.

What else could it be? I'm going to see an internist tomorrow.

I already do have neuropathies - sick of the pain - would like to find a cause so they can maybe fix it...

It may as well be a neuropathy. A neuropathic condition does not only have to present itself in people with diabetes; it is just more prevalent. I hope that you dont have the condition because it is painful, sometimes, and a pain in the bottom both literally and figuratively. However a "normal" person is perfectly susceptible to neuropathies.

You don't have to be a diabetic to have a neuropathy. Neuropathy means nervous system problem. You need to see a neurologist. Other things can cause this.

Be sure to rule-out a B12 deficiency. This is common and can cause peripheral neuropathy. Best wishes and good luck.

P.S., if your doctor orders 'serum B12' (that is, the doc orders a measurement of your blood levels of B12), then your doctor is NOT knowledgeable about proper testing for B12 status. The proper tests to order are serum Homocysteine and urinary Methylmalonic acid. Serum B12 can be 'normal' even though you are deficient!

It may be nerves: you are worried about getting diabetes and you are manifesting the symptoms without the disease and it is psychosomatic.

You are doing the best for yourself being vigilant in watching your health: Blessings
