Hello - I get a chance to get inside my dog's head a few times a day, so I have narrowed it down:

Is it near something that makes me want to poo, based on the smell?
If I keep it in, will I get to stay out longer, or will the guy holding my leash lose patience?
Is this a spot where I can poo without making eye-contact with the guy holding my leash?

I have a dog, he is 10 1/2 years old and this is not a lie, he will only poop when he is facing north. Maybe he has a magnetic nose, but we laugh about it all of the time.

His son, who is 8, will poop when his dad poops, he doesn't care about the direction, when we walk the dad will stop to poop, we say poopie to the younger one , he just stops dead in his tracks and does it.

I'm not sure if it's personal preferance or what but I do know there's a whole lot of sniffing around first.
