Thalassemia trait found will it carry?

I carry a Thalassemia trait in my genes, i myself dont have it. if my husband tests positive for carrying the gene himself what is the likelyhood that our children will carry it too, or even have the disease. ive heard it can be fatal.

If your husband has the gene then the statistics go much higher.

You and your husband need to get some genetic counseling. Ask you doctor to recommend someone.

A genetic counselor can give you some odds and also recommendations on having children or not having children.

If I were you and I had the gene and my husband had the gene: I would not have children. Why bring someone into a world of pain and suffering?
