The Psalms are a collection of Hebrew poems which were written over a period of about 1000 years. There were a dozen or more authors who composed the Psalms. Hebrew tradition holds that David compiled the Psalms with the help of ten elders.
While David didn't write all of the Psalms, still he is the primary author, which is why they are called Davidic.
