It would first be necessary for the apparition to convince me that it was in fact god. The obvious test to use, since one may suppose that god knows everything, is to ask for the ultimate theory of everything. (Einstein spent the last years of his life looking for such a theory; he never found it, and neither has anyone else. The problem is fiendishly difficult.) If the apparition succeeded in convincing me that it was god, then I should ask: what would he like me to do?

Oh well this is a very interesting question although people are not answering it very seriously. First of all, I would say that there is no chance whatsoever of this happening. But to answer your theoretical question, I am unsure of how I would react. I honestly would probably think that I was hallucinating or having a very very weird neurological problem. But if it felt so real that I thought it really was god (I mean, God might exist but I just don't believe it at all), well of course I would believe. But I believe that there is no way that could happen and anyone who claims it happens to them would seem like a nut to me. Sure, it seems hypocritical, but I'm only human.

Good question Sweetie but I doubt you will get a straight answer like no I still wouldn't believe, or yes I would, or even I would go to a mental health clinic.

If god appeared to me and spoke to me (and only me)...If he did it once I would ignore it and assume it was a transitory hilucination. If he did it multiple times I would see if he would talk to me and someone else at the same time. If he didn't, I'd seek mental health care. If he did, well, the phenomenon would then merit further investigation.

I might ask him to part a sea or two for me, just so I could be sure, but then again I've always been a doubting Thomas...

...but then yeah. I'd believe. I'd believe in Santa Clause too if he scooted down my 8" chimney.

I would certainly be shocked, but stand my ground. Upon my examination of human history and the Semitic religions, I have determined that if there is a god, that god is a selfish dangerous, and narcissistic being that does not have our best interests at heart. I would rather go to hell with all of my loved ones than to praise a god who cares only for itself.

I will ring your doorbell and run away!!!
