Truly, it's plain and simple.
Stay away from quick fast food like frozen boxes from the supermarket. Those are not designed for everyday eating. You'll pay the price in the long run.
Stick with mostly fresh vegetables and whole grains. Whole wheat bread, brown rice and lots of green veggies like broccoli, spinach etc. You can eat them raw, steamed, stir fried etc. Throw in some of your other favorite sides like onions, bell peppers, carrots etc. Cook up several batches with different flavors on the weekend and freeze in individual containers. It will be quick and healthy with no preservatives. The hardest thing you'll HAVE TO DO is find time to exercise. That is more important than you may think. Whenever you take your shower, morning or night, be sure to take 10 to 20 minutes to do a mini workout. Buy a video, record your own from Fit TV or get a treadmill.

One diet that I found quite successful was the Carbohydrate Addict's diet.
The rules are:
1. Have protein for breakfast, nothing else. I used to buy a bacon and egg muffin and threw away the muffin. Or you could boil some eggs, fry some eggs, make or buy an omelet.
2. Lunch - salad with any kind of meat, chicken or fish. No starchy vegetables like potatoes, and no bread. I used to buy a salad from a takeaway shop or buy half a chicken.
If you need snacks during the day, it has to be either salad veg or protein. Drinks - water, tea or coffee with a splash of milk and no more than one spoon of sugar.
3. Dinner - eat anything and everything you want, including ice cream, potatoes, bread, wine - literally anything. BUT you have to time yourself. From the first bite to the last must be no more than one hour exactly. Once that hour is up, you can't have anything else to eat that day.
In spite of treating myself to ice cream etc. in my evening meal, I lost a lot of weight on this diet.
It's tough for the first day or two, but knowing you can have a treat every night makes it easier to put up with the daytime deprivation!

Well, I would recommend either of these two diets: the Tyra's Tasty Tip Diet (by supermodel Tyra Banks) and the fist diet. The TTT diet allows you to eat anything and everything you want, limiting each food to be served the size of a ping pong ball. The fist diet (which I am currently doing) is one in which you limit each type of food in a square meal to the size of your fist. The TTT Diet is useful for buffets (please, do NOT try the fist diet in buffets or desserts), and the fist diet is ONLY for a square meal. Also, whenever you feel hungry and it's not yet dinner, drink plenty of cold water. Do that too before meals (at least a glass).

A healthy meal doesn't have to be one that takes time to cook. There is nothing more healthy than a salad & raw veggies. It only takes the time needed to wash it, or if you buy bagged salad it doesn't even need to be washed. Also the healthiest thing to have for breakfast is raw fruit. Again it only takes a minute to wash and you have an instant healthy as heck meal.
