Actions. The only time thoughts are a bad thing is when they become an obsession because obsessions usually lead to bad actions. But the obsession is only a bad thing b/c it lead to bad actions. Thinking about something is not the same as doing it, contrary to what all the fundies are sure to post as I type this. I like to think of thoughts as video games. You come home from a stressful day and play Grand Theft Auto so you can kill people and tear stuff up and get it out of your system without actually doing it.

Try not to think of it as punishment. Rather accept the repercussions of your actions and the actions of others as a natural exercise in the law of cause-and-effect. Remember that free will thing, well that means that we can quite literally decide the future. God doesn't really punish so much as he lets us try to do it on our own and then lets us deal with the mess we make of it.

You always make your own choices. Problem or not, you choose what you do and how you entertain your mind. If Satan puts a lustfull thought in your head, you have a choice. Continue thought of it, or push it straight from your mind. You will not be punished for Satan's role, but for your own. If you make the wrong choices, why shouldn't you be punished? Instead of using problems as an exuse, turn towards, not away from, God and ask for help. Tell him you're struggling. He knows, and can see you trying not to sin. So ask for guidance. Believe me, I could never have made it on my own. God saved my life, because I called out to him. Call out to him, and tell me where you are in a year. You can always e-mail me with problems, or if you need to talk. Please understand, I am trying to be gentle. I am not judging you, its not my job. I'm only offering advice it would be best to take.

God isn't about punishing you. God is about LOVE. God is about FORGIVENESS. Your thoughts determine your actions. Your actions determine your future. As long as you are asking for God's help in all things, He will direct you in all things. The punishment that I think you are referring to is simply consequences for your decisions. God DOESN'T punish people here on earth. Judgement at the end of your life is about if you accepted Salvation offered to you by the death of Jesus or not.

There was a Scripture, I can't remember it..... A fellow was told to do something and he mumbled under his breath that he really didn't want to do it, but did it anyway....... Now, his brother was told to do another and admited that he would openly to his father that he would, but didn't.......... the question is..... Which was more righteous, the one that did it or the one that didn't...???

the answer was, the one that did the work even though he didn't want to.......

There are many thoughts in mind, but actions speak louder than words, correct?!!!

Thoughts are the hearts intent, but actions put into motion what was on the mind......

A lie has been sold by modern day evangelism. It is the lie that says, "God has a wonderful plan for your life. If you just believe in Him, your marriage will be better and your life will be happier." That is wrong. God does not promise that. God never says that your life will magically get better if you simply believe in Him. The only thing that changes when you repent and follow Jesus is that you will be able to deal with the ickeyness of life because you know you are going to Heaven. "Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have troubles or calamity, or are persecuted, or are hungry or cold or in danger or threatened with death? No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us." (Rom.8:35-37)

Yes, it rains on the just and unjust.
God knew your thoughts and actions before He even began to create the world. That's what 'all knowing' means.
However, He also wants us to have a relationship with Him, and He has unlimited power and knowledge to share with us, if we follow Him and learn/ study about Him and live for Him- as the Bible points out !

I guess not, your thought usually becomes the action later. No one chooses to think what he ones especially when its not directed to one particular direction( example education work & etc.) But its better to be in control of your action, by embedding good quality moral practices so that it will help you curb your wrong doings.Hope your question got some answers.
