first of all, there is no crime in Islam that is punishable by death. a person should be punished for the crime -- but the punishment should NOT be death. it is a very big misconception people have. if u read the Quran, Allah says, if someone does commit a crime then flog then -- 80 or 100 stripes and after that make the guilty give CHARITY and let the guilly FAST. in Islam, REPENTANCE IS GIVEN A LOT MORE IMPORTANCE RATHER THAN PUNISHMENT.
how did stoning -- which was Pre-Islamic Law -- come into Islam? it comes from here --The most accepted collection of Hadith Sahih al Bukhari has 4 entries under 3829, 8804, 8805 and 8824 which refer to stoning by death. The case under 4829 involved Jews who were stoned to death in accordance with the Law of the Torah. 8805 says: "A married man from the tribe of Bani Aslam who had committed illegal sexual intercourse and bore witnesses four times against himself was ordered by the Prophet (s.a.s.) to be stoned to death".
here u can clearly see that the people IN QUESTION WERE JEWS and it was aLAW OF TORAH TO BE STONED TO DEATH NOT OF ISLAM. when they asked prophet Muhammed-pbuh, he said FOLLOW THE LAW OF TORAH, but years later muslim men incorporated this as a rule in Islam. so who should be blamed? Islam, Allah, Qu'ran, Muhammed-pbuh or the half/no -knowledgable followers?
second, Allah does say in the Quran that -- i have made a man and a woman and out of u built nations and tribes and languages. so being a homosexual means u move away from nature.
Allah says in the Quran -- i have given u the critereon of right and wrong and i have given u FREEWILL, now its ur choice, but one will have to answer on Day of Judgement. but NO WHERE in Quran did Allah give any mortal the authority or power over th other. no man in Islam can judge another -- apart from the regular judiciary similar to that what our Govts hold.
but one should not forget that when an individual prefers to be a homosexual, then they are also His Creation, His people. and Allah says that -- At-Takwir | 29 verses | The Overthrowing
Sura #81 | Makkah
28 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight.
29 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation.

Well first of all i have to say, I don't want you dead. Yes homosexuality is forbidden in Islam but it's not the being gay that's the sin its acting on it. Secondly its not only Islam that says homosexuality is a sin Judaism, Catholicism etc. Well you hating us simply because we are Muslim is just as prejudice as people hating you because you are Gay........There are plenty of Muslim out there and when was the last time you heard they killed a homosexual? I'm guessing you haven't. Have there been gays killed in my country (UK) beaten up and murdered by Gay bashers who where skin heads and Nazi supporters? Yes. I think you should be more worried about groups like this than Muslims. Its not my job to make you overcome your fears and prejudices by i hope i have a little. I know quite a few gay people and the last thing i want to do is kill them or anybody else for that matter. Believe it or not how we feel is its your life to do with what you want, its not my business to judge you, even though its against my religion, as it is many others. Its your life your accountable. I'm too busy living mine to worry about yours or anyone elses. Good luck.

We, Muslims, might not hate the homosexuals, but we no way stand it, nor support it. This is the truth.
A leading Islamic scholar says: "Homosexuality is sinful and shameful. In Islamic terminology it is called 'Al-Fahsha' or an atrocious and obscene act. Islam teaches that believers should neither do the obscene acts, nor in any way indulge in their propagation. Allah says, "Those who love (to see) obscenity published broadcast among the Believers will have a grievous Penalty in this life and in the Hereafter: Allah knows, and you know not." (Al-Nur: 19) "
It is already proven that homosexuality is NOT genetic, and this is
a choice, which is sinful. Whether you hate Muslims or not, it doesn't change the Islamic viewpoint.
Also, Islam doesn't teach to put the homosexual to death in the first place. Islam says that the homosexuals should be given proper care and treatment to recover such shameful behavior. If the homosexual still continues it to show rebel againt Islam, then proper actions are taken (It's in a country run by Islamic laws).

I'm a Muslim and I've done some computer consulting work for a gay pewter sculpture/artist. i didn't know he was gay at first, but figured it out later and we talked about it. i never said anything against him being gay or anything negative in terms of how Islam or Muslims treat gays, but after that conversation he started acting very negative towards me. we ended up cutting off our relationship. i tried to stay in touch with him but he just fell silent.
i think it's a matter of perception. you hate Muslims but they don't all necessarily hate you or want you dead. in my case, i was hoping to establish a good business relationship with the gay artist, but he chose not to. perhaps if you put yourself in a Muslim's shoes and perceive how gays treat Muslims, you might understand why people are they way they are. Just because the religion of Islam says to kill gays (which I'm not so sure it does), doesn't mean it's required of Muslims to take it upon themselves to carry out the law. By the way, aren't those the same exact laws that are in the Torah. Do you hate Jews also? And if I'm not mistaken, the Torah is more or less the Old Testament which the Christians believe to be a part of their Bible, so why do you not hate all Christians as well? Perhaps you need to get to know some Muslims first before you hate the unreal image you have of them.

It is not in the Quran to kill people who perfer the same sex as a mate. The only time it mentions it is when it talks about Prophet Lot. I think it is wrong, but killing as punishment is not back up by the Quran. Only God can help you overcome you predjudice. Just go to some sites that are pro-Islamic. Your hate comes from lack of understanding.
I do not hate you, in-fact I don't think of Homosexuality that often, its hardly on my mind, and it is none of my business.
You're just paranoid thats all, and we all are sometimes.

"How should I witness to a homosexual?"
Rather than offend homosexuals by directly confronting the issue of their sinful lifestyle, modern evangelism often tries to soften the approach by saying that "God hates the sin, but loves the sinner." This isn’t a new concept.
Charles Finney stated, "God is not angry merely against the sin abstracted from the sinner, but against the sinner himself. Some persons have labored hard to set up this ridiculous and absurd abstraction, and would fain make it appear that God is angry at sin, yet not at the sinner. He hates the theft, but loves the thief. He abhors adultery, but is pleased with the adulterer. Now this is supreme nonsense. The sin has no moral character apart from the sinner. The act is nothing apart from the actor. The very thing that God hates and disapproves is not the mere event—the thing done in distinction from the doer; but it is the doer himself. It grieves and displeases Him that a rational moral agent, under His government, should array himself against his own God and Father, against all that is right and just in the universe. This is the thing that offends God. The sinner himself is the direct and the only object of his anger."
So the Bible shows. God is angry with the wicked [Psalm 7:11], not with the abstract sin. If the wicked turn not, God will whet His sword—He has bent His bow and made it ready—not to shoot at the sin, but the sinner—the wicked man who has done the abominable thing. This is the only doctrine of either the Bible or of common sense on this subject" (The Guilt of Sin).
The biblical way to witness to a homosexual is not to argue with him about his lifestyle but to use the Law to bring the knowledge of sin. This will show him that he is guilty of breaking God’s holy Law, and he is damned not because of, but despite his sexual preference. The Law was made for homosexuals, as well as other lawbreakers.

dont listen to them, do you think they are good muslims?(!) a good muslim would never want a person to die, whatever s/he does. but i'll just tell you something as a human, not as a muslim, being gay is not a good thing and why be gay, it gets you in a lot of trouble... and it is forbidden in islam anyway... by the way, islam does not support killing people. none of the religions would suppor killing people, people make up those stupid things.
anyways just be a good boy ^-^ and be more happy and make more friends! ^-^ good luck!!!

First of all, I just have to say that not all Muslims feel the same about homosexuals. I don't support any kind of persecution of gay people, because I seriously believe that Allah would accept anyone who truly wanted to accept Islam, as long as they gave up homosexuality. Please don't hate us. Not all Muslims feel the same about this issue. I feel like it is my duty to reach out to all people with love. That is why I'm answering this. To let you know that we don't hate you, and wish you the best.

Peace to you
i don't think most of us want to kill you... as per Prophet Muhammad (saw) there are three sins that are punishable by death. all three sins are sins that harm society: murder, adultery, and apostacy (this is based on the fact that no one is forced into Islam)
*and what do you notice there, homosexuality is not one of them
***many cultures misuse the shariah(Islamic law) or change or interpret it to suit their needs. there are many Muslims if not majority who do not support the way things are done in certain countries that claim to live by Islamic law
ps you seem intelligent and kind to want to learn more instead of living with the current view you hold of Muslims. i can say for myself that i do not want you dead in the least bit
peace to all,
Sakina

We are only allowed to kill in self defense (in war) plus punish murderers. Whoever kills intentionally, must be killed by the law.
Gays do not fall into that category. You are just a sinner, God will punish you, not us. If you say "U have not right to call me a sinner" I will say that it is in the Quran. God was so angery with Prophet Lot's people, that He wiped them out. It shows that their acts are resented by Him.
