My chihuahua has been having rice sized brownish spotting when she pees. She was breed with another smaller Chi 2 wks ago and is out of the normal bleeding/bleeding stage. She has no temp., very happy, and not sick. Has anyone experienced this and the dog is pregnant. Thought it may be implantation. PLEASE----do not respond if you have an ethical problem with breeding dogs, they are vet checked.

It never hurts to have things like this checked out. It may be nothing, however when my Lucy developed life-threatening pyometra (she almost died) the first signs were spotting a week after breeding.

This is common after breeding. If there is a discharge that is "infectious" in appearance (foul smell) see a Vet ASAP. Otherwise the discharge should/will be a clear mucous.... normal. Fetal implantation occurs around day 21. Utrasound is usually done about 28 days after the last breeding. This could confirm the pregnancy. Make sure and mark your calendar for pups 69 days after the first breeding. Start taking her temperature 5 days prior to whelping. It will drop below 99 degrees (F) pups usually come 24 to 48 hours after the drop. Good luck with her and the new babes!

Sorry, but the last thing we need on this planet is another yappy, bitey, aggressive, antisocial, ratty little chihuahua. They are NOT a nice breed and some people are just money hungry. Sorry, I don't see anything ethical about it and I feel entitled to my own opinion. Viszlas are a wonderful, regal and majestic breed. I think everyone should have one. That's all.

It could still be the end of the heat.

It is not uncommon for the female to develop a urinary tract infection after being bred.
A urine sample to the vet will diagnose if it is.

she probably is just still "finishing" her heat. no worries unless the blood is bright red and not a regular heat. was she "AI" or natural cover? just courious, eighter way she sounds normal and very well could be pregnant. wait the 63 days and see..good luck . watch mom during and after delivery for calcium shock, it killed my tiny

Spotting only when she pees could be a problem. Suggest you call your vet.
