What would you do of your girlfriend had a guy friend that she would mention and make reference to quite often? If she told you that she liked him before she got together with you but then realised they wouldn't work but then became close friends with him and got together with you shortly afterwards? How would you feel if you shared a laugh and she would text him to share the joke with him too? Or is she wasn't feeling that great and she speaks to him too? I'm just trying to get a male perspective on all this. Would you try to get him to feature less in her life, bearing in mind the frienship is only four months old, could it subside by itself? would you grin and bear it?

4 months isn't too long i'd just bite my tongue and hope that it subsides on its own how ever the sharing every aspect of your life with him is a little much don't you think, like the instantly texting a joke like its just a joke is it that important. but if it was really bothering me then i'd express that to her and see where she really stands and see what her true feelings for me are.

That is too much! I think the girlfriend needs to realize who is more important, her boyfriend or her guy friend. The boyfriend won't put up with that for long and if he does he is a fool!

i went through this with my girlfriend and her sisters boyfriend. Their really close and they did more things together then me and her did at the start. Its kind of changed now but their still pretty close. At first i was really jealous but after thinking about it i knew where it was coming from and accepted it mostly, i still get jealous but not as much.

If I wasn't serious about you I would grin and bear it. The good side is that I wouldn't feel I owed loyalty to you.

do not get jealous, and do not forbid them from seeing each other, both will cause too much hardship on them, so you got to accept it that they are friends, and just live with it, would you rather that they did it behind your back, the fact that you know about it makes it sound like you have nothing to worry about, but if it does get out of hand then talk to them about it, that it bothers you, but usually friends with outlive boy and girl friends, so you may just be pushing yourself out of the picture...

That is my exact situation. But she still spends more time with me than with him, so it all works out. It helps that he's a few thousand miles away.
