most fruits you get to buy at the grocery store are not seasonal. they're all year through- they're all fresh if they're locally grown ofcourse. but if you like exotic fruits(other than apples, oranges & the likes) then it would depend in what part of the world you live in. different fruits grow in certain places only.like for instance in southeast right now, Mangosteen is rampant. berries on high altitude countries, etc.

All fruits are fresh vegetables. A "vegetable" is a plant, any part of which is employed for food.

In the superstore, fruits are usually chosen much too soon. Some are rocks, many are bad. Some of the fresh vegetables are right (zucchini, onions, garlic, lettuce, greens, and a few others) so I'd have to go with vegetables.

It depends on where you live and what season you are having now... winter? or summer (Australia)! We have fruits imported all year round from Thailand, Taiwan (tropical area), US, Australia, Japan.

This time of year here in Hong Kong we would have mandarins, Kumquats, grapes, Japanese kaki (see this photo) http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3Fp%3Dkaki%26ei%3DUTF-8%26fr%3Dyfp-t-501%26x%3Dwrt&w=200&h=200&imgurl=www.obst-gemuese.at%2Fimages%2Fproduct%2Fimgbig%2Fkaki.jpg&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.obst-gemuese.at%2Fproduct%2Fpages%2Fkaki&size=10.7kB&name=kaki.jpg&p=kaki&type=jpeg&no=2&tt=82,785&oid=6fe8ff586ccc8b68&ei=UTF-8
& Japanese nashi (pear) http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3Fp%3Dnashi%26ei%3DUTF-8%26fr%3Dyfp-t-501%26b%3D21&w=225&h=300&imgurl=www.lindenbrunnenhof.de%2Fimages%2Fobst%2Fbirnen%2Fnashi.jpg&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lindenbrunnenhof.de%2Fbirnen.htm&size=12.1kB&name=nashi.jpg&p=nashi&type=jpeg&no=34&tt=13,984&oid=91a0fd2b425618ec&ei=UTF-8
