Hi... I suffered from Oily hair once too. Best remedy is a combination of things. Here are some suggestions. Just be careful don't over-do it.

Twice a week put about a quarter size amount of baking soda into your fav "for oily hair shampoo" and make a paste. Scrub your hair down to the roots. This really helps.

Once a week (depending on condition of hair) use Neutrogena CLEAN shampoo. This shampoo really works to strip all the oil causing build-up from your hair.

Use conditioner only on ends of hair and maybe even use it before shampooing.

Also once a week do a cider vinegar rinse (for darker hair) this can be done by taking a cup of vinegar into the shower and mixing it half and half with warm water.
if you have lighter hair the same concept can be done with lemon juice.

Remember alternate treatments! It all works. Good luck

When you Shampoo your hair make sure that you do only the top of your head & when Cond. your hair do only the lower length. I have had 2 stylist tell me this. I also know that some salons carry a type of hair powder made special for dancers. The powder is a used because due to several shows a dancer perform in one day this helps them keep hair dry & not oily. It comes in hair color shades. It's great!! I got it from a stylist but need some more. I'm sorry I dont remember the name of it but ask around & I'm sure you will get a hit.

I honestly have an identical situation... be certain you get a shampoo for greasy hair... that many times helps a sprint. paul mitchell and matrix products are surprising the 2d day once I can tell my hair is getting oily, i will positioned it up, with the bangs pinned in a bob on precise of my head with some pins. the extra desirable carry hides the oil, and helps shop it off your head from getting extra oily. it seems lovable too!

try any claryfing shampoo... I use kanebo deep cleansing every couple of days or so.

Use only a dime size amount of conditioner about once or twice a week ONLY to your hair ends

Dont use too much hair product... so that it wont weigh down your hair.

Have trims between now and then to keep it healthy.

use talcum or baby powder rubbed in your hair roots to make ur hair less greasy

before rinsing your hair... try this once/week... small amount of vinegar on your hair before that last rinse.

avoid over-brushing your hair :)

Use Treseme and you know where it says only use like a dime full or quarter of whatever, acutally do that. If you use to much you think your washing your hair really well but truly your destroying your hair. Its like when a fish is touched it loses thos oils and makes its 'skin' weaker. This is especially true with conditioner not AS much but still true with shampoo.

make sure you use a shampoo without moisturizers or emolients. shower often. dont use conditioner. if youre still oily, dont rinse all the shampoo out of your hair when youre in the shower.
