They have fallen prey to a hope that there are many ways to heaven because they do not want to believe.

There are many areas of agreement such as values. Rational people accept that the beliefs of others are just as valid even though they may disagree as long as certain basic values seem to be shared. Some people do not feel that it is right to beat someone over the head with the Bible, Torah or Koran. It is a live and let live approach and it is not about saying that all religions have the right answer even though there is some contradiction.

I agree with abc. If a person actually studies the key teachings of all the major religions of the word, you find that they have more in common than not.
The Buddha and Jesus, for example, would have agreed on almost all of their key teachings.
No one religion/philosophy has monopoly on truth. No one religion contains the only path to the spirit/God. Perhaps life would be easier if we all believed the exact same way...but surely life would be more boring if this were so.

It's true that mystics from many different religions have said that all religions are one. If you read religious concepts literally, then all religions seem to contradict each other, like you say. But there is a way of reading religious concepts metaphorically where they all point in the same direction. There are certain core themes that weave through all religions. If you get a chance, check out the idea of the Perennial philosophy:

If you actually study religion you will find the basic concepts of being a good person are all the same and the differences are in cultural translations. Read the History of God By Karen Armstrong

Those people are rare.
But every religion contradicts itself - let alone other religions, so I see no reason why it would be impossible for the supernaturally inclined mind.

I really don't know why people think all religions are right. It's some sort of politically correct idea.

Exactly right. There is only one path which leadeth to life, and few there be which find it. All religions may contradict each other but the Bible never does. Jesus Christ is The way, The truth and The life. No one, but no one comes to the Father but through Him

There is no right religion for all. There is a right religion for an individual(s). It is usually how you are raised and then what are you exposed to. What goes on in your life and what experiences have affected you in whatever way. No religion is right but we all are right in a way. Just not all together.

crazy ain't it? As Kevin Smith said, it's better to have ideas instead of beliefs. You can change an idea. But beliefs, people die for it. People kill for it, whether it's right, wrong, or undetermined.
