Is it dysentry you are speaking about or constipation.
For smooth motions everyday give him lot of ruffage to eat ie.let him eat properly washed, chopped, salads, like cabbage, cuucmber, beetroot, tomato, carrot, raddish
make sure that he eats raw tomato everyday.
Dont let hime eat bakery items like bread, ckae, biscuits often. Instead make him a paratha, upma, poha, bhajjis etc.
Wake him up everyday at the same time in the morning.
Give him warm water to drink initially till the motions pass regularly.
Try NV-30 a homeopathy medicine.

My child also had such a problem she used to pass her stools once in a week. That too of all the week days (the amount was too much) I showed doctor he checked it whether she has a ring at her that place but no, later it was discovered that the lever infection I had got in pregnancy had reached to her in her neval & due to that infection the problem was on stools. It was ok after the medication

Dysentary means bloody diarrhea. If he has that he needs to see a doctor.
If he's just constipated, make sure he gets lots of fiber, which is in fruits and vegetables and whole grains, and make sure he drinks a lot of water. Exercise helps with constipation, too.

if he's ok as in behaving normal & not having discomfort, i suppose it's fine. if you're really concern, seek a doctor's opinion. i understand your worries - i've a mum-in-law who insists that my son move his bowels daily :( i dont really mind if he does it once every 2 days or so.
