I am so sorry...I don't know what "AA" arthritis is, but I have had "post traumatic" arthritis for 25 years..that is just another name for osteoarthritis caused by a severe bone injury. People don't understand, do they??? It becomes such an emotional and mental drain as well as physical because you don't want to do anything...because everything hurts.

I don't see a doctor regularly because I know there really isn't anything they can do, and certainly not a cure for it. I take Celebrex when I can afford it...it is cost-prohibitive without insurance. I take it in spite of the warning and negative press. Maybe it does increase the risks of internal bleeding and heart disease....so what? I need it to move around. People I know with the same affliction who say Celebrex doesn't help them take Aleve. I also take glucosamine sulfate...it doesn't help much with the pain, but it does retard further bone deterioiration.

Lastly, no matter how much it hurts, try to get up and move. the longer I remain immobile, the more it hurts.

I sincerely hope you find some relief!!!

I know exactly where you are at. I have athristis in over 70% of my body and have surgery on differant things all the time, right now I am at number 14. Pain managment is very hard, alot of it is mentally, medications can work only to a point and then the rest you have to make your mind do what you what your body to do. It is not easy beleive me. I am going on 33 and looking forward to a tolal knee replacement next.

I am on a persribed pain medication I take every day but I also take a very strong anti-inflamitory medication for the arthrisits, I take declofinac 2 pills twice a day. I did not really think they worked at first cause I still hurt pretty bad but when I ran out of them for a few day OMG I was hurting so bad I was calling the drug store non stop to get them refilled. It doesn't take the pain away 100% but I would say at least 80% of it and if you know pain then you know that means alot.
If you have problem pain in your joints they have OTC medication that help good. I tryed Osteo-biflex, it basically puts lubrication in the joints they they can move with less pain.
Vitiam E is also very good to take with arthitis it also helps in animals with arthrists problems.

Other than the excersises you get from theraphy, and always try to do them, it hurts like hell but in the long run it will be better for you.

With everything you can try I really think the use of a good strong anti-inflamitory is the most inportant day to day drug a person with arthrits. There are some really good web site for arthrits also, I beleive one is the arthritis foundation, they have a free newletter on any new treatments and drugs and sometimes coupons for free trials.

I hope you can find somethin that can help you.Good luck

The pain seems to get worse when a weather front is approaching. I have a person in my family stretch my legs and arms for me. Then I lie on my stomach, and they sit on me and work their way up my back. Next I sit, and she uses her hands to push my shoulders down. Next, I go behind the love seat and get balanced and I go backwards over the love-seat from the waist up. This is a monumental stretcher! Also you can heat up a couple of blankets in the dryer and then wrap up in them and cover with a third blanket. This is very soothing and will help your muscles relax. I have pain everyday and I concoct these remedies to make myself feel better. I hope you will try some of them! Best of luck to you!!

im sorry to hear of your misfortune.arthitis itself can be crippling to ones body .they have squeeze balls for your hands just to keep those fingers going.there is no real cure for arthritis, however for some nuerotin has been a good treatment in intercepting the synpses from sending the message to the brain.but watch its side effects carfully.Physical thearpy can be helpful but it wont eliminate your problem.the problem is the damage is there and noone has found the cure to fix it.Although i hear that there is a doctor Stien at hopkins university who is researching and having amazing break through on new types os surgeries might be worth investigating.

Call your doctor and tell him/her this. Explain that the pain is disrupting your life and that you would like some kind of pain management regimen (either written instructions for excercise or a mild drug.. maybe ibuprofen to get you through the month). Don't hesitate. That's what they are paid for.
Good luck

Please see a Rheumatologist immediately and ask to be tested by a blood test for c-ANCA and also p-ANCA. I had the same initial symptoms and almost died before being diagnosed (correctly), with a rare disease called Wegener's Granulomytosis. Even if it is not that disease it may well be another auto-immune disease that a Rhuematologist is trained to treat successfully. Don't wait --this may be serious and you don't want permanent damage by waiting too long!
