He killed & tortured more people (60 million deaths), and made miserable all the Russian nation, not to mention others in the Soviet Union.

Since we are in the religion section here, I should mention that at the beginning he tried to uproot Christianity and all religions completely and create an atheist country. Thousands of martyrs died for their faith, killed by the secret police or exterminated in prison camps (Gulag). Then, he decided he should work together witht the Church, so when people confessed to officially recognized priests, they sent informative notes to soviet authorities. But there were also truthful priests in the so called Catacomb Church, who were risking their lives better than betray the Church.

And for some reason, Stalin not only got away with it, but his ideology is still very much alive. There are lots of Marxists in Western universities.

Who freaking cares, people? Both of them were utter nutcases, and both killed based on their own twisted societal/governmental ideas, not on their position on the existence or non-existence of god.
