Now, that bananas in Victoria are finally cheaper, I want to make banana split. any ideas for the best banana split recipe? thanks heaps for your help

I um... have no recipe for this... but I do know how to make something taste good. Start off with your favorite ice cream... it could be strawberry, mint chocolate chip, or even rocky road. A variety makes the taste even more fantastic. Place three nice big scoops in a bowl. Now that you have done that, crumble your favorite cookie onto your ice cream... just enough to cover your ice cream. After that, take a banana and slice it, yup, slice it, and arrange it onto your bowl in a spiral fashion. Get where I'm going? Now you can have that delicious banana in every bite. After that, you take a bottle of whipped cream and top it off. Now to even enjoy it more, put a drizzle of chocolate/strawberry/caramel syrup whichever you prefer and finish it off with some sprinkles. TA-DA! You don't need a cherry for this, but could because it's not a sundae. =) But if you want one, you could for nice looks and an extra bite. There you go!

No fuss banana split Serves 2 Preparation time less than 30 mins Cooking time less than 10 mins Ingredients For the chocolate sauce: 110g/4oz dark chocolate 2 tbsp golden syrup 75ml/2fl oz water For the banana split: 2 bananas 1 can whipped cream 1 tub vanilla ice cream 1 chocolate coated honey comb bar 30g/1oz chocolate coated peanut sweets Method 1. Make the chocolate: sauce by melting the chocolate with the syrup and water in a pan over a low heat. 2. Keep stirring until the chocolate has melted. Remove from the heat. 3. Peel the bananas and cut lengthways. Place on a serving plate. 4. Scoop the ice cream into the middle and squirt over the cream. 5. Pour over the sauce. Scatter over the crushed honey comb bar and chocolate coated peanut sweets. 6. Serve.

1 cup miniature marshmallows
1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
1 cup whipped topping
2 small firm bananas. split lengthwise
Chocolate syrup
2 maraschino cherries


In a bowl, combine the marshmallows, pineapple and whipped topping. Place banana halves in dessert dishes with two scoops of marshmallow mixture between. Drizzle with chocolate syrup; top with a cherry. Serve immediately.

Banana Split

4 large ripe bananas
8 scoops vanilla ice cream
8 ounces hulled strawberries
marshmallows (for garnish)
1/4 cup chopped pecans

Butterscotch Sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup whipping cream
1 3/4 ounces butter

---------Tomake Sauce-----------.
Combine the sugar, cream and butter in a saucepan and stir over medium heat until mixture boils.
Reduce heat and simmer 3 minutes, then cool mixture to room temperature.
Peel bananas and cut in half lengthways.
Arrange each banana in a long serving dish and top with two scoops of ice cream.
Spoon sauce over and top with strawberries, marshmallows and pecans.
Serve immediately.

Banana Split Cake

(8 ounce) box banana cake mix
2 bananas, sliced crosswise
3 2/3 cups milk
1/2 cup nuts, chopped
1 can crushed pineapples, save juice
2 packages instant banana pudding mix
1 container Cool Whip
hot fudge
maraschino cherries


Make cake according to directions on box.
Pour into greased 13 x 9 inch baking pan.
Drain pineapple, set juice aside.
Slice bananas crosswise and soak in reserved pineapple juice.
Set aside.
While the cake is cooling, prepare the pudding mixes using the 3 2/3 cups milk.
Fold in pineapple.
Spread pudding mixture over cooled cake; lay sliced bananas over pudding.
Spread Cool Whip over this and drizzle hot fudge over this.
Sprinkle with nuts.
Place maraschino cherries on each serving.

1 banana per serving cut in half lengthwise
Place banana in serving bowl
Add three scoops vanilla ice cream between banana slices.
Scoop one heaping tablespoon each of the following fruit topping over scoops of ice cream
Strawberry ice cream topping
Chocolate syrup
Pineapple ice cream topping
Add Sweet whipped topping or Cool Whip over fruit topping.
Sprinkle with chopped nuts and one maraschino cherry.

take a frozen banana and lick it,suck it roll it around your tongue,add some white vanilla love potion,take some vanilla ice cream and sprinkle your nut on top.....pop a cherry on the top of course,and then let your nut syrup run alllllllllll over it! sprinkle with chocolate nipples and voila!

Best banana split ice-cream cake

4 cup Strawberry ice cream
⅓ cup Chocolate sauce, chilled
4 cup Vanilla ice cream
14 ounce Canned pineapple
4 cup Chocolate ice cream
½ cup Whipping cream
1 tablespoon Icing sugar
1 Banana, sliced
1 ¼ cup Frozen strawberries
3 tablespoon Granulated sugar
½ teaspoon Orange rind, grated
1 tablespoon Orange juice, or water
1 teaspoon Cornstarch
1 cup Granulated sugar
¾ cup Whipping cream, or evaporated milk
½ cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon Vanilla
pinch Salt

STRAWBERRY SAUCE
CHOCOLATE SAUCE
Chocolate Sauce: In saucepan, whisk together sugar, shipping cream, cocoa, vanilla and salt until smooth; cook over medium heat, stirring for 8-10 minutes or until thickened and smooth. Let cool. [Makes 1-1/2 cups.]

Cake:
Let strawberry ice cream stand at room temperature for about 20 minutes or until spreadable; pack evenly into 9-inch springform pan. Pour chocolate sauce over top.
Freeze for 15-20 minutes or until firm.
Meanwhile, let vanilla ice cream stand at room temperature for about 20 minutes or until softened. Meanwhile, drain pineapple and pure in food processor; mix into vanilla ice cream.
Spread over chocolate layer; freeze for 20 minutes or until firm. Meanwhile, let chocolate ice cream stand at room temperature for 20 minutes or until softened; spread over pineapple layer. Freeze for 20 minutes or until firm.
[Cake can be prepared to this point, covered and stored in freezer for up to 3 days.]

Strawberry Sauce: Meanwhile, in small saucepan, stir together strawberries, sugar and orange rind. Blend orange juice with cornstarch; stir into pan and cook, stirring, over medium-high heat for 7-8 minutes or until thickened.
Refrigerate until chilled.
Whip cream with icing sugar; spread or pipe over top of cake. Remove side of pan; garnish with banana and strawberry sauce. Serve immediately.
