1 & 2 : I've painted several of my walls deep red, and I've found cheap, high quaility primer & paint at the Home Depot. You're going to have to figure out the exact color yourself, since lighting, flooring, and the other furnature in the room makes a difference when chooseing.

3. Here are some good on-line stores: http://www.designtoscano.com/, http://www.gothicroseantiques.com/, http://www.madametalbot.com/sitemap.htm, http://www.westgatenecromantic.com/oscommerce/, http://www.gargoylestatuary.com/

4. Between the Sheets has black & dark bedding in satin, velvet, PVC, latex, silk, and more (http://www.englishsilksheets.com/default.cfm)

5. http://www.homedecorators.com/Lighting/Wall_Lighting/ has some great stuff, but you can find a good selection at Home Depot too.

You might want to check out Voltaire's book "Paint it Black" for more ideas.

For red walls I would definitely use a pink based primer. it may cost a little more, but it will save you in the long run. red paint typically needs several coats to reach the right color. Spencers and Hot Topic were my best ideas for decor. You might also try ebay, or overstock.com. It really depends upon what you want. Bedding is tough. I would check bed bath and beyond. Also, you can probably get a black comforter at walmart and dress the bedding up with cool accent pillows and nice sheets. Check out some garage sales or thrift shops. You might be able to find some leather pillows from an old couch. You could also make pleather pillow covers. they are really simple. deep purple sheets might be cool for th goth theme. i always think of rich jewel tones, lots of black, and silver. You can use chains for accesories. for example, a spikey dog coller for a curtain tie back. Or attach chains to a lamp shade. Sconces are great, but not so much light. i like the idea of black lights for setting "the mood." have fun.

How about some black lights? Sounds like they'd go with your theme--or other types of mood lights (lava lamps, etc.)

I guess part of the problem is I can't tell if you're doing more fantasy (in which case lots of plants, spray-on glow in the dark stars, etc would be good) or just gothic/dragons, in which case you want more red light bulbs and that kind of thing.

I wouldn't recommend painting walls black, purple or red unless it is a dramatic room. Bedrooms are a place of rest, you don't want the room to keep you awake instead of relaxing you.
Maybe you could do red comforter, black sheets.. and use black sconces, frames shelves and other decor to pull it together.
Black curtains tie back curtains with a red valance. but sheer white underneath

You can keep it dramatic, but you don't want it to end up looking like a dark uncomfortable gothic lair.
You can have it be a contemporary fashionable dramatic bedroom instead?
Make sure you keep white in the scheme to lighten it up.

My wife helped me decorate my office in a similar theme, we used medieval type wall decor, such as shields and tapestries,
we found some of these items here http://www.designerwalltapestries.com/Medieval_Tapestries_s/68.htm and not real sure where she purchased the 2 shields for me. Hope this mite point you to some unique decorating ideas.
