Jewellery - like a silver necklace with a nice amethyst stone in it. Something handmade, like from a market or somewhere.

Merry Christmas :-)

Anything that is special to her will be a winner. By this i mean....does she have a fave womens rights book or activists? If so go along that path. You said she was a hippy - how about finding somethign hipy-ish that she may like.....a book about growing your own veges or a cool head-scarf or some handmade jewellery. Or to get her saying 'awww' you could make something for her.....like a little T-shirt with her fave womens rights slogan on it....something that she cares about or gets her attention is a good place to start. Personally i'm a big fan of personalising a gift to the person, small touches make all the difference. How about having some of her favourite photos framed in a nice frame & have her friends/family write birthday wishes in there.....really nice :) In the end it doesn't really matter what the gift is....just as long as she can tell that you've thought about it & that you've given it with love. Good Luck.

Life is about balance......do not get involved with what you gave get focus on what you can make......Material bought things are forgotten in time. Be a true man of honor and make her a card with a sonnet or poem. Your view of not being able to do such a thing is nonsense.....after you are done wrap the gift in used scrap wrapping paper...this will take a great deal of time......This gift will allow you to see if she truly loves you. It also shows the creative side and romantic that you made time to connect beyond sex. Women seek adventure.....most of all dedication by action. Many places offer things to attach to a card that you may not be creative enough to free hand. I have no idea how old you are and I am not a women but I have never ran afoul on such a gesture..
Have a wonderful holiday and may your love for one another bring you two to your reachable Nirvana

get a bunch of things and put them in a big stocking or basket..
a journal, scented candles, a hippy-like scarf (they are ALL OVER THE PLACE NOW), a letter (written by you),.... (essentially a bunch of small things)-
OR... (what i would love)... (and I don't know how old you are) ... a trip out of town somewhere. You get a map.. mark the spot where you are going, get reservations to go somewhere in that destination, type out the itinerary and put it all in a box.

what's your age?

Girl Stuff of course...

A locket with your picture in it.
Better yet a picture of the two of you.
Maybe one you took on a special trip or date.

Any girl would like that.
Happy Holidays
