Believe in yourself. Self belief is a universal cure. People whom doctors have given up hope on have been cured. People in dangerous and difficult situations have been known to have overcome all difficulties. This is due to self belief. Belief that you can do the impossible and all will be well.

The best part of mental health issues - they are all in YOUR head. You have control over almost anything that happens in your head. The worst part of mental health issues - they are all in your head. You have to be the one to control your head, your thoughts. It involves alot of what we like to call self responsibility. This is where You take responsibility for ALL of your actions, good or bad. The problem with a dependency issue is that we all need help in life. I need help in my job, there is not enough time in the day for me get every thing done that needs done, so i have an assistant. Now, if you have a dependency issue you have trouble telling when you don't need help. So this is what you need to do, every time you feel you need help, think is this something I can do myself. If the answer is yes, then do it yourself and leave your friends alone. Here is something that most friends won't tell us - they are annoyed by us needing them all the time.
I hope you were not referring to Co-dependency, needing to be loved by some one all the time, so if your girlfriend left you you would have to find some one new quickly. most of the same stuff applies for that, but think about a cat or a dog, stay away from fish at first, they are easy to kill.

Make a beginning - a small one for a start. It could be as small as going to the toilet on your own in the nights(if you are a small kid) or could be you choosing your office wear(if you work) without asking others to help you. Things can vary but what matters is you making an effort to stand and be on your own. Don't worry about failures or making a fool of yourself. Things will work if you are determined to make a difference. Do all that you like - your favorite activities and make note of all that you have done the whole day. You can mark what you did on your own and what you wanted others help in. Then you work out how you can change and do things without any help or at least with less help and speak to someone close to you - a friend, parent or anyone and see tell them your views and get their opinion too so that you have different thoughts to see the pros and cons. So go on don't wait to take your first move. All the best.

Do something you really want to do but don't believe you can do by yourself. Do it by yourself. We're looking for small victories here at first. KISS (Keep it simple).
