seems to me that the welterweight and middleweight divisions have the spotlight these days.

135lbs is not in the "lime light" presently but, some interesting match-ups could be just down the road. Morales is seeking a fight with Joel Casamayor for this Summer. Then there is the "Diaz Connection"- Juan "Baby Bull" Diaz the Undefeated WBA Champion (if you've never seen him he's a fantastic fighter), Julio Diaz the IBF Champ with 24 of his 33 wins via KO, and David Diaz a skillful boxer on the cusp of a title shot. This along with the unretired Acelino Freitas and the possible introduction of Pacman to 135lbs pretty soon, 135lbs should start getting more lively over the next 10 to 12 months.

The Lightweight division as such is not the most popular you are correct, it has some good fighters in that division in Juan "Baby Bull" Diaz and Joel Casamayor but until Manny Pacquiao moves up to Lightweight which i presume he will eventually (if only to get a challenge) this division is not going to receive as much of the spotlight as Welter and Middleweight.
The reason that those two are the weights which receive the most attention (along with Super-Feather) is because of the strength in depth in the divisions, if some more superstars come through in the Lightweight division it will receive just as much attention as the others we have mentioned, hopefully this will happen sooner rather than later.
