It needed two witnesses for anyone to establish a self defense plea specially for a woman in Muslims world. If the wounds had been more than one, the judge will always consider it pre-meditated killing. Woman and non-Muslims are always treated guilty first before they are proven innocent. Rapist most of the time in their country could always have the reason that they were seduced and most of the time they are preferred to be given favor by their court. Much more if the woman's reason is she is about to be raped. She has to be raped first before she makes the killing. She has to show the evidence of rape. Her luck, she is not living in America.

I have heard of this story, and quite a few others. One has to wonder at the malice that the people who decide these things have towards women. This is not just, this is not merciful, and this is not a light of Islam that will change non-Muslims' minds about it.

That's easy to understand. The reason why is because in the Islamic culture, women are only placed on the earth to tend to a man's needs, REGARDLESS of what that need is. In that culture, the term "self-defense" is used very loosely, especially where women are concerned. Their culture says (in part) that a man can defend himself from a woman, but if a woman tries to defend herself from a man she is considered to be "non-submissive".

I dont know if it is accurate or not, but in our newspaper last week (I think last week) there was an article telling how alot of times when a rape is comitted in an Arab country, the police and local authorities and the parents of the woman get together and try to arrange a marriage between her and the rapist...wow.

That's sickening. The gov't officials who decided she should die for self-defense are the ones who should hang instead. Unfortunately there's not alot that can be done with the current gov't, military, and culture where women have no rights whatsoever and men are allowed to get away with anything.

I've heard this story and hundreds like it, unfortunately. And it's not only in the Middle East. Everyone woman the right to defend herself!! You just have to be creative sometimes....
