Hands down, I would say that Sony makes better woofers than Legacy. However, it's not by a long shot. I would still classify Sony woofers as decent at best. Ever since they changed to the xplod line, they have seemingly geared toward raising their sales as opposed to making high quality products. There isn't much argument that Sony's woofers can get very loud, however they tend to not take high loads of power very well. Sony has gone a long ways with the xplod line, however. They're definately getting better I would say.

Sony is faaaaaar better. I wouldn't force my worst enemy to use anything from Legacy, Audiobahn, Rockwood, DHD, Boss, Sherwood, Pyle, Pyramid...junk like that. Their products are made so cheaply that you take the risk of burning up other components of your system just by having them in your car. Their protection circuitry frequently fails, and in car audio you get what you pay for so stay away from the cheap junk if you don't want a lot of problems.

I wouldnt even waste my money on pyle or pyramid. Seriously, a beefy high powered 12 will be louder than the pyramid 18, with enough power. Pyramid and pyle products are low quality and break easily.
