But I was just watching the news about the Pope & the Muslims & Islams. I just want to know which one is the country & which one is the religion. Are the Muslims Islamic or are the people from Islam Muslims? Thanks for your help

The word Islam is comparable to the word Christianity.
The word Muslim is comparable to the word Christian.
Muslims practice Islam and live in many countries. I'm an American Muslim practicing Islam as well as I know how. I have friends who are British Muslims, Pakistani Muslims, Canadian Muslims, Australian Muslims, Iraqi Muslims. . . . .

Hi. In answer to your question: Islam is a religion based on the teachings of the prophet Muhammad. The people who follow the teachings are Muslims. Islam is practiced in just about every country in the world, but it isn't a country. Hope this helps.

Pope: Personal head of the Roman Catholic Church. Currently Cardinal Ratzinger(sp?), called Benedictine.
Countries: Italy, Turkey, Jordan, Syria, Isreal, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Egypt. The Pope lives in Italy, and is currently touring several of the other countries mentioned. There is no country called "Muslim" or "Islam".

Islam is the (false) religion and those who follow it are called Muslims. Many times the news refers to countries where Islam is the main religion as," an Islamic country or a Muslim country". These countries are generally Arabic nations .
It is a good thing for you to ask questions especially about the Muslims since the people of the world need to educate themselves about these so-called "peaceful religious Muslims", ignorance is NOT bliss.

Don't say Islams. Although there are different Islamic sects like Shia' and Sunni.
Muslims follow Islam like Christians follow Christianity.
There is no country called Islam, but there are Islamic republics like Iran and Pakistan.
