um...so you mean handi capped people cannot drive and they should make a prison of their own lives just because they cant do some thing we normal people can do?
Nah, handi capped people should enjoy what we all enjoys, just because they have lost an eye...an arm or a leg, doesnt mean that they shouldnt be doing the things that we do.
And you also said that a handi capped woman had an accidents...but the fact is, normal people have no disability but they still having lots accidents, does one handi capped person means that lot to you then other millions of people you seen or heard on the news every day?
i mean, seriously, why do we have blind side walk, wheel chair or artifical legs? does that means handi capped shouldnt be walking the first place?
we just needs a little more understand and empathy to other people, i can promise that this world will be a much better place.

There is a very obvious reason for a handicapped parking space, and "NO!" It is not be cause this person drives; it is for the other person driving the handicapped person. YOU used a WAY... out there reason. It's like the person stroking; they have NO idea they are going to stroke..
MY QUESTION TO YOU IS; have you ever spent even 10 full minutes with a handicapped person? Do you have "ANY" relative that has "ever" become "INCONVIENCED?"
Untill you have? Or untill you do? Keep your childish remarks home. There are real people out here that live every day with handicapped people, or inconviences every day of their life!!
By birth, choice or none.
"IF" and I do mean if; this actually happened? I am sorry for the child and the parents. But you steriotyped.
Seizures are most certainly un-planned, and should/could be controlled by medicine. Look at the doctor; well before the person driving the car.
People who drive after seizures can "ONLY" do so ~~after~~ a DR'S OKAY.

There are some people who abuse the handicap designation. I mean healthy people, so not every handicap designated person will do what you described. As for the actual handicapped people who do drive, most of them just can't walk very far, which is the reason for the spots being closest to the stores doors.
Yes for sure what happenned is dreadful, but ummm Edmonton has the this country's worst drivers. I saw right in front of my eyes in the last month alone head on collisions. Not the greatest decision makers as far as drivers go here.

Not all handicapped people are hazards. It is not always the driver that is handicapped. Do you think every person in a wheel chair should be house bound or depend on public transportation? I hope you are never injured or have a family member that has a heart condition or other problem that prevents them from exertion. Have you ever even tried to get around on crutches? Your example really didn't have anything to do with handicap parking. Why not lay the responsibility with the family and medical personnel who knew that women should not have been driving. They should have taken her keys away.

Number one: what does this have to with dating.
Number two: you are an idiot. Handi capped parking are not for people with seizures.
Number three: What about people that have stokes or heart attacks while driving and have accidents. Just cause one person had a seziure and injured some one, does not mean you stop all from some thing. If that was the case then we should not allow anyone who drinks to drive, or teens cause they have accidents that hurt people.
Next time think before you type and then don't type!!!

Don't be dumb. There are a wide variety of handicaps, only some of which would make it dangerous for a person to drive. For instance, a family friend had to have his left leg amputated. This in no way compromises his ability to drive, but it makes it difficult for him to walk long distances. It helps if he can park closer to stores.
Another example: my mother -in-law is dying of cancer. They issued her husband a handicapped plate so when she is a passenger in his car they can park closer and she won't have to struggle as much to get places.
People get handicapped plates when they have kidney disease or heart problems. You can get a temporary one if you've had major leg surgery or something else that impairs your ability to walk. Walking and driving are two different things, though, and it's ignorant to assume that not being able to do one precludes you from doing the other.

There are various degrees of handicaps. People who are disabled need to get around, too, you know, and do not always have someone available to help them!
Try to be empathetic. Of course nobody with severe handicaps should be driving. The situation you mention is awful, though. I would think that someone with seizures should not be able to drive.

There are handicapped passengers you know. What do you think we should do with handicapped people? Lock them in a closet? I had a multi handicapped daughter and she had as much or more right as you to go to the mall or anywhere else. You need to think before you write.

I used to work with the handicapped, and let me tell you why. Mobility is usually an issue when you are mentally or physically handicapped. The walk that is so necessary causes pain, anxiety, and disorientation. But the handicapped have to do the same things we must do to retain thier independence.

I am in full agreement, they should not get parking spaces up front, walking, or gimping acrost the parking lot is free physical tharapy. Besides, everyone abuses handi capped parking anyway. We should be allowed to crack some louisville hickory acrost their knees, "SO you want a handicapped spot HUH?"
