Because he is also the father of lies, the great deceiver. We believe his lies like Eve did. We let our flesh rule our decion making.

There is no such thing as "the devil," Satan, or similar hobgoblin. You are doing things that are perhaps against your best judgment because you are human, and we are all ambivalent about following rules because they rob us of our individuality. Ascribing these desires to Satan (1) robs you of your own responsibility for both creating the desire to act in ways that are not helpful and possibly harmful, and (2) inserts too great a mystery into their cause.
A mature morality takes responsibility for your own actions without deciding you were tempted by anything other than your own internal desires, which you share with the rest of humanity.

Becuase sin has covered our eyes, the love of money, lust, adultery, etc. seem so good in this world. Satan works through all these worldly things that seem so pleasurable to us but are pure sin. Satan even works through people to destroy the ones that are saved and walking in Christ. We need to pray about this to God more to help us understand what's right from wrong.

First the devil is in your head only and the crime in the world is of immoral cause born of ignorance and not done to please figments of your imagination but to gain the perverted fruits of their perverted labors. If the road to hell was not paved with good intentions the impotent god awful sheep of the world might do something real to help change it . Good and evil are real things of men not myth.If you really want to cure the criminal mind don't go to superstitions look to real possibilities.
peaceout

Because we are human, and not perfect. Only one has never sinned, and His name is Jesus.
The rest of us have all fallen short of the glory of God.
Thank God there is forgiveness, right?
