arn't they the same? I'm looking at a site that makes them look seperate. which will I need for apartment hunting?

they are the same and they affect you the same. A lot of people say "Fico" other people say "credit". They're both the same and they work with apartment hunting too.

FICO is one brand of credit score (there are actually several different scores sold under the "FICO" name), developed by Fair Isaac Company. FICO is one of a number of commercially-available credit scores which lenders (and other companies) buy. Others include: NextGen, TransriskScore and Vantage. Additionally, lenders will sometimes develop their own in-house credit scores, based on their own cutomer data.

fico is one type of "credit score"
there are other types of scores...usually similar
but FICO is most popular

pretty much the same thing, just comes from a different source.
