While I do think you went way overboard, I do agree that plastering Christmas everywhere is a bit much. But It is a common misconception that this is a 100% Christian nation, it isn't.
To the Poster who said "Stop your bellyaching. You have already taken prayer out of our schools, the Ten Commandments out of our courtrooms, and you sure as hell are not taking Jesus and Christmas out of the malls, off the TV and radio, and off of public advertisements. next year, maybe we should start Christmas festiviities before Thanksgiving or even immediately following Halloween.
GEEZ..... Next, you'll want to take Jesus and the story of the Nativity out of our churches!
idiot. ?"
1. they are not YOUR schools, public schools are for everyone, and thus the holidays should be handled that way, everyones, or no ones.
2. Courtrooms are supposed to be for secular government and government is not to promote one religion over another, Constitution 1st Amendment.
How about equal billing with the other religions that helped build this country? Can we get some mall space too without having to worry about it offending you? It's already bad enough that Samhain/Halloween has gotten relabled as Satans Holiday, which is crap.
I am getting more than a little tired of you Christian Right Bigots having your way and then whinning when someone asks for equality.
What gets done inside a church, as long as it is not against the law is between you and your God.

First, if you don't believe in God, then I respect that. But, you need to recognize that a lot of people -in fact the majority of Americans - sincerely believe in God from the depths of their being, and it's inappropriate - in fact rude - for you to be so insutling about it.
Second, are you saying that since other peoples' beliefs are different then yours, then they are wrong and so you can insult them? If so, then you have to respect it and accept it if Christians think you are wrong and do things that you find offensive. Fair is fair buddy!
Thirdly, you need to take a step back and look at this from a higher level. Recognize that our nation was founded on Christian principles and those principles were actively considered by the founding fathers in the creation of our founding documents. Recognize that the majority of our culture has been Christian for generations upon generations, and have reverence for this time of the year. My point here is that Christianity is deeply ingrained in our society. It's just a fact. It's not going to go away any time soon, and although you don't believe in God, you will experience Christmas festivities because it's so deeply entrenched in the society where you live. There are a lot of non-believers, but the fact is that you are the minority, and counter to our culture (that doesn't mean I don't respect your beliefs). It's just reality, my friend. What's unfortunate is that most of what you experience is more about advertising and marketing. So, our society's experience of our Christan heritage isn't perfect, I admit.
A few years ago, a jewish friend of mine mentioned he had a Christmas Eve dinner. I asked him why he would have a Christmas dinner since he was Jewish. He said that although he doesn't believe in Christianity, he recognizes that he lives in a culture where that part of the year is sacred and therefore just chooses to use the time to be mindful of family and friends and the blessings of life, and hope for peace in the world. His non-Christian family has chosen to respect a time of the year that is sacred for our culture and community. Now THAT is a healthy attitude.

BAH HUM BUG! really I respect your opinion Dude, but, don't bring everyone Else's moods down because you are down. I feel sorry for you. Anyway, I love Christmas and every holiday and not because I believe in Jesus or anything, that could be part of it and to celebrate the birth of Christ, but, if I was any other religion than I am or if I was a non-believer, I would still celebrate every holiday like Christmas and birthdays, because I like being around my family for the holidays, I like stuffing myself on the holidays feast and I love donating to people and giving my family gifts. I like giving more than receiving and to see their faces when they open their gifts. Yes, I know I can give them gifts anytime and donate anytime and have a feast anytime, but, the holidays make it extra special and it gives you something to look forward to every year. If you don't believe in any of that or celebrate any of that it just makes it another boring day. I get excited looking forward to these things, yes it does gets stressful, but its also fun and I enjoy sharing with others and spending time with my family and friends and I never get tired of Christmas music, commercials or advertisements, it gives me a warm feeling inside each time. Cheer up tomorrows another day. Happy Holidays!

I think that you need to think about other people around you, we all have to give up things in our life to make things better for others. Christmas for some is a time of love, sharing, and caring and yes sometimes things do get out of hand but it is the thought that it brings people together with love and happiness.

I love Christmas...just seeing family, going to church, wrapping gifts, haha...and eating big turkey dinners. But you are right. Here, the mall started putting up Christmas decorations a week after Halloween. I don't like the commercialization. But really, it is Christmas everyday in my heart. It is all about attitude my friend.

The period key is the one just above the space bar, to the right. Use it. Perhaps we could interact with a slightly more intelligent (and more grammatical) rant--but your's is completely nonsensical. Merry Christmas!

Turn off your TV. Listen to non-commercial radio stations and avoid shopping in malls or department stores. It works for me.
