This is a sign of frustration. I have had and bred Rottweilers for years. When you leave home they tend to get frustrated. Dogs are very dependant which can be a hassle. The best suggestion would be to confine them to a small section of your living space until you can train them to not chew on things which takes time and patience, but there is hope with that you can train your dogs to not chew on things while you are not home. Another idea would be to buy some sort of deterant like bitter apple that has a bad bitter taste that dogs hate. Hope this helps. :)

do your dogs get enough exercise? running around the house and backyard is no substitution for long walks. Dogs need to go out, need to be walked in a disciplined manner. When they are bored and frustrated they destroy things to get attention. besides, since you weren't there to correct them, how are they supposed to know it's wrong to chew things up? If you drain the dog energy, they'll be more content to relax at home. I noticed that with my dog - he only destroys slippers and steals my things if i don't walk him for a day or two. good luck!

Kennel them when you are gone! This will not allow them to chew anything up! If they are in a kennel, they can't chew up anything. It may sound mean but it is for the safety of your dogs and your sanity. That way, they can't accidentally swallow anything and possibly choke!

oh dear. You'll need a crate for your dog, and while you're getting that, get some chewies for him to work on in there. Believe me, your peace of mind will improve! And, your dog won't be able to hurt himself when he's confined in this safe, humane way.

God luck with your little stinkers.

You could take them to an obedience school. But if you can't do that then maybe you could leave them outside. You can put them in the garage too.Tell them in a very deep and stern voice that they can't do that anymore.
