I have this problem to and it is
depression ..I.have been down to 98 lbs and 5 foot 3...so I hear ya......I have been 113 lbs now for longer than I can remember and it makes me happy....we need fat on our bodies to keep our bodies burning fuel properly...Have a milkshake...a piece of bread with peanut butter on it...a past Dr...told me to do that everyday along with my other foods and it helps....allow yourself the freedom of being able to eat..... At 14 your body is doing crazy things....HORMONES ARE HELL!!!...With people telling you to gain weight ask them where they got theirs so you can get some...As long as you are eating well let your body do what it does...your body is just your handsome carrying case for what really counts...we are only given one and it is YOURS...if people feel need to pass judgement on you remember that they do that because of there own insecurities and need to make you appear to be less than them when in reality it is them who feel insecure..Talk to someone you trust about this NOW so it doesn't turn into a whole body image thing....Life is too short to waste time worrying about what others think of your body when they don't live in it....

ur too young to be depressed sweetie, save that for when bill collectors start calling and bills are due, you got a while. But don't be depressed about it, the ones telling you to gain weight probably need to shed some weight. You have to learn to love yourself the way you are, if you don't love/like yourself, don't expect anyone else to. Maybe go to the doctor and find out if you have a thyroid disease or something, I know people with that and they gain hardly any weight, so get that checked, otherwise your metabolism is high and just eat healthy so that your overall health can be good even with the weight you have. The proper nutrients still need to be provided to the proper organs so they operate properly. So don't be eatin any ole thing just to gain weight, it could possibly harm you in the long run, when you're older, when you will start to gain weight and then it will be hard to get rid of it then. So love you for how God created you and don't be sittin in no corner depressed either, that is only gonna make your situation worse, so snap out of it and appreciate yourself so others can, let them know that your are comfortable with how you look, it could be worse, I'm pretty sure there are kids you know with the same problem you have but they can't loose weight. Let it Go!!! THis too shall pass. Build up your self esteem and encourage yourself, this is the only life you have, don't spend it complaining......IT IS WHAT IT IS, unless you have a solution to your problems and crying, being depressed and feeling bad for yourself are not options! God Bless you sweetie.

Evidently, this is related to some emotional issues you have, as is obesity in others. The ONLY way that you can sort out your exterior issues, is if you sort out your interior/emotional issues. You know that you're skinny, so it shouldn't bother you when others tell you (trust me, I know I hate it too when other people point out the obvious about some flaws making you feel worse), but if you let that affect you, it's not helpful. Most people say it because they care for you and are concerned, and let's not lie, others say it because it darned right makes them feel better about themselves to scrutinise others, but don't let that get you down. I personally suffered from depression, and still do to an extent, but the point where you realise that it's consuming you is the point where you have to say, "Hold on, this isn't too great for me, I need to change my mentality and emotional habits and stop this."
These emotional habits are literally "eating" you, and I suggest that you see a specialist. Judging by the fact that you stated others as pointing out your physical condition making you cry, I think that you might feel ashamed to see a specialist and might be afraid of what they might think of you, but as I say to others, they didn't go into that line of work to judge others, they went into that work to HELP others.
The specialists that you might want to consider seeing are psychologists and dietitians. However, I believe that if you take care of the root of this problem, which is your depression caused by your emotional dramas and your mentality, then you can do something about your weight. Also keep in mind that you are 14 and are probably going taller, which makes you appear skinnier. This is completely NORMAL. It's just a part of being a teenager and as you "grow into" your new body, height and all, you'll find it easier to adjust your weight. I think that your weight is actually normal, and you'll find that some other teenagers weigh the same, I know I was like that. I'm still lanky, because I'm tall and skinny. Your metabolism, being the age you are is normally super fast, and your body is using the energy you get from the food to assist it in growing. I say enjoy the process. You have nothing to be worried about as it's perfectly natural; however, I still think you should see someone to talk to about your depression- it shouldn't be taken lightly.
You seem very brightand I wish you all the best. Feel free to email me if you have any more questions.

KT, this is a good question. There are 3 different body types that us humans are categorized by: 1. Ectomorph - small boned typically thinner 2. Mesomorph - Medium boned typically very athletic build 3. Endomorph - large boned and usually heavy Each of these body types have different advantages. For example, an ectomorph may excel in sports that require little body mass, while a mesomorph may become a great gymnast, while an endomorph could be an offensive lineman for a football team. The list goes on. Height should not dictate weight. Go on line and look up these body types and see which category you fit into.

Honey, you are at that stage of life where your hormones really play you. You will be emotional and all you can do is learn to control your emotions. Also at this age your matabalism is at it's peak so it will be hard to gain weight. I was 25 and weighed a whopping 92lbs, I started drinking that stuff called "Ensure" It helped some but untill your matabalism slows down there is really not much you can do. I also got that weight gainer that people use when they are into bodybuilding, before you do that you want to talk to your parents about it first. I hope I have been some help to you. Another thing is that alot of kids will say stuff like that because they are jellous of the way you look. So pull yourself up by the boot straps and get out of that rut you are in. I wish you all the luck in the world. Sissy

I'm sorry to hear about your depression. The best way to fight that is to exercise. I know that sounds counter-productive with your weight issues, but if you go out into the fresh air each day for a brisk 10-20 minute walk, it can really fight the blues. And, you'll find that you have more energy also. Have you considered the possibility that you may have an eating disorder? I'm not sure if you've been seen by a physician, but I would advise it. Another good tip is to have whole milk with each meal and maybe even protein powder mixed with fruit/yogurt in a blender. Best of luck to you!

You need to calm down and realize there are cures for you.
As far are your weight goes, you are still growing. Your body is going to start changing over the next few years, so you will probably find it easier to put on a little weight. In the mean time, drink a supplement like Ensure, which is packed with calories in one little can.
As far as the depression goes, realize you are young and things will change. See a counselor if you feel like the depression is starting to take over.
You actually don't sound terribly thin, so you probably only need to put on a few pounds and you'll feel a lot better!

I have the same problem but I've learnt not to worry about it because I am really lazy and I eat heaps of unhealthy food, you should be happy about it while you can be because when we're older it's gonna change and we'll have trouble trying to lose weight

i don't know what the problem is? you are at the recommended weight for your height and age.
????? i don't understand the problem.
it's not the weight you're having a problem with ... it's mental.. see a doctor about this condition. (about the depression and the mental facility where you think your weight is a problem) the weight is perfect... you should move on from that and work with the depression instead.
