A broken heart is not that easy to explain. It feels like you have a 1000 pound wieght on your chest. It makes you numb from the inside out. You walk around in a fog that feels like it may never lift from your sight. It's lonely times 10. You never feel more alone then after someone leaves you broken hearted. It feels like if you cried one more tear you might drown. No one can tell you to get over it because at the time, you feel you will never get over it. Only time can heal that kind of pain. There you go what I know personally about a broken heart, Hope it will help answer your question, alittle.

it makes you feel like life is not worth living for, and that you woud give anything in the world to make the pain go away. you will still feel the pain weeks, or even months later. to have a broken heart is to give up happiness and excitement. it will truly break you down no mater how hard of a person you think you are and it will make you cry. it is truly the most horrible thing that a person can go through. it will make a person do the most crazy things like kill themselves or even someone else. a truly broken hearted person has experienced all these things but they probably wouldnt tell you.
Real Talk.

You could describe it in many ways. If this person has ever lost a loved one to death. A broken heart is a similar pain. If they are pretty young and haven't lost anyone significant in their life but have lost a close pet, for them you could say a broken heart is similar to the loss of their pet.
It is a deep, moaning, gut wrenching pain that doesn't go away for a while. Its something you can't stop thinking about. It is something that time helps heal.
I have had a broken heart and lost a loved one(dad) this year. I would say the pain is similar. It causes a deep sadness that just takes time to begin to heal.
So a very deep sadness may be a way of putting it.

A broken heart is when some rips your heart out and stomps it all over the ground. They crush everything you have, destroy everything you love, and kill every ounce of happiness you ever had. There is a darkness, a cold silence that surrounds you as you feel dead inside. You are caged in this pain and sadness, feeling like you can never escape. You can never love again. You will never be as happy as you ever were....You cry, you ask why, and you wonder what could have been. Your stomach is tense from the anxiety and your head is clouded in stress. You are bewildered at what hit you and scared of what is to come.
All you want is the pain to go away, for them to make it better again. Then you realize...it will never be...it was what it was...and you learn your first lesson in life. The only thing you can ever control in life is yourself....and no one else.
Is that good enough of a description for ya?

Like having your heart ripped out of your chest and slammed on the ground and stomped on in front of you by someone that you cared about and trusted? Or maybe it's more like an aching inside that never stops but gets worse from time to time when memories surface? Whenever two people love each other and then there is betrayal, it's never the same between them...if they break up with you and you don't understand why, it's really hard to handle that. You wonder what's wrong with you and why you weren't good enough even if the problem isn't you but your choice in people to date!
Does that help?

It can be a physical pain... a feeling like you're heart has been ripped out of your chest, it is a feeling like your heart is on fire without any way to stop the pain. You will cry for days and can be inconsolable unless you were dumped then you will feel the worst anger and will wish them terrible harm. You will go through all the stages of bereavement then although it won't seem like it, you will eventually recover but may still cry once and awhile. They say it takes four years for every year you were together to recover from a break-up. I really hope you aren't in the process but if you are try to break-up gently and without regrets.

i would describe it as one of the worse feelings ever!!
i guess coz there are so many different ways as heart can be broken but the feeling always remains the same, an there is really nothing you can do just go with the healing process an remember the way you felt when it happened to you an try to the best of your abilities not to inflict the same pain on to others.
what doesnt kill you only makes you stronger.

Well... my husband says to tell you it is like getting kicked in the balls over and over and over again. That pain and sick feeling. I say it is like you just found out ur best friend died. It is hard to breath, eat, sleep, and evrytime u think about that person u start to cry all over again. The pain from the first broken heart, if u really love someone, will never fully go away, but u can start to breath again.

(my boyfriend broke up with me because of distance, & we'd been together for a year & 2 months---now we're back together---he asked me out again, and i obviously said yes; i love him alot). i would describe it as feeling:
as though you were missing your other half.
as a dark, dark tunnel seeming as if it would stretch on for no end.
having a good cry, but then wanting to cry more, but having no tears left.
putting his stuff away in the closet into bags and boxes, and saying a silent good-bye, but knowing that you could never really say good-bye.
the corner that i had in my room, where his stuff had been hung up etc., was blank---i didn't know what else to put there.
looking up everytime to see if he came into the room, when it was really someone else.
being and looking lost without him.
not knowing if life could really go on without him.
not knowing if you'll ever be truly happy again.
i don't think he really knew how much he hurt me.
