My dad is in a rock band, and he said that while he was playing, he had an extreme headache like never before, and now he's burning up a bit.

I was wondering what could possibly be wrong with him? Do you think it's from stress?

the part that mystifies me about your question is when you say he is burning up a bit. what does that mean? do you mean that his body feels like it is hot? if so, then have him take his temperature. if he is above 100 degrees, then have him see a doctor. he may have something as mild, but very important to treat, infection, such a urinary tract infection. if not treated, it will go to his kidney(s), and then his fever will get to about 103-104. if higher, he could die.

as to the extreme headache: it depends on where the headache was, on his head. and it matters if he got nauseated or not. he should see his primary doctor first, then if it can't be diagnosed, he should have that doctor refer him to a specialist. it could be migraine headaches, or far worse, it could be signs of an anneurism in the brain. if that little blood vessel bubble bursts, he could hemmorhage and die from internal bleeding in the brain. tell him to get it checked out right away.

he MIGHT have gotten the headache from something minor, too. perhaps he needs eyeglasses. eye strain causes headaches. if he was hungry, he should have eaten a piece of bread.

the reason i say bread (or rice) in particular is because the grain is made of glutton. glutton is the quickest thing of anything eaten to break down into glucose, going into the bloodstream immediately. it only takes about 1.5 minutes, once you eat something made of glutton, to get rid of a hunger headache. the reason that is is because the brain will only "eat" glucose. it must be constantly bathed in blood rich in glucose. so when you get a hunger headache, just eat bread, rice (best), or if you must, cookies. anything made with wheat or rice is best. corn is not so good.

i strongly doubt that he got the headache from noise. i would think it more likely that he got the headache because he was sick.

My wife woke up one morning 2 1/2 yrs. ago with an extreme headache & a high fever. Took her to ER a she was diagnosed with a ruptured aneurysm & was very fortunate to survive. However she has been left with short term memory loss & has been diagnosed with another one which hasn't ruptured but is an extreme danger. She is currently awaiting surgery. While in Intensive care a young father was brought in who had waited 4 days to get medical treatment for his extreme headache. He too had a ruptured aneurysm but because he had waited so long surgery was not an option. The damage had already been done & he lapsed into a coma from which he'll have little hope of recovery. DON'T TAKE CHANCES the risks are too great & are sometimes life threatening. Not only your Father's life. Yours will change drastically too. Take him to ER & have him checked. Even if it's a false alarm they'll at very least give him something to ease the pain!!!!!!!!!

U better get him to the ER in a hurry. Stress has nothing to do with having a fever and an extreme headache. It may be a simple bug, but the symptoms also sound similar to Mennangitis, which is serious stuff. Go hit the ER right now.

Stress headaches do not cause you to have a fever. I am wondering if your dad picked up a virus while playing in a venue with lots of people around. He might just have a passing bug. If the headache gets worse or goes away and then comes back as bad as before, a trip to the doctor or the hospital might be in order.

An extreme headache like he has never had before means he needs to go to urgent care or ER IMMEDIATELY. That type of headache could mean an aneurysm or tumor. He needs to be checked out immediately.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

No, it is not stress. A bad headache is a danger signal. Call the Dr or go to the ER.

No, I don't think it's stress, I think it may be something he needs to have looked at right now.

Extreme headaches can be very serious. I suggest you call his doctor and see what they say, right now.

It sounds like migrains. You might need to get a new persciption for your glasses, get your eyes checked again, and if they're fine, then go to a doctor... not to freak you out, but people who get brain tumors usually know because they have intense migrains that get worse and worse... so just to be safe, get it checked out. There is also special medication for this, so defiantly go to a specailist.

Sounds like he is sick....Maybe a sinus infection, ear infection, eye infection, something in his head, since the pain is there. Give lots of fluids to help with the fever and call doctor ASAP.
