My father died when I was young and his family wouldn't let my mother or I know where he was buried because I'm partially white. Do you know of any ways that I would have the ability to find his burial site?

Do you or your mother know the date of his death -- or where he may have died? What about any date of an obit notice? Does your mother have his Social Security Number (if you received Survivor's Benefits from his death -- she SHOULD have this information).

Start by asking the questions -- and have each of you put your heads together and write down what you know. Then ... from that point, IF you have the SSN -- you could use the Social Security Death Indices to find information on his date of death -- and from there -- you can track down his death notice through most of the familiar Geneology Sites.

Wow, that stinks. Check his death certificate, sometimes they have it listed there. Check with the people you know that are really cloes to them, try some websights. Good luck with your father, and I extend my sympathies for his death.

You can try www.findagrave.com. No guarantees that he's listed, but it's worth a shot. Good luck.
