Both have medicinal uses and both contain caffeine which can be addictive. Coffee has been proven to help prevent cirrhosis of the liver & tea contains antioxidants which mop up harmful free radicals so they are pretty much the same. Take your pick which one you like best.

It mostly just depends upon what you like the most, for some people think that coffee is just to strong and that it can cause a hole in you stomach, if you drink enough it can. Though it is a good wake-up call for when stuck doing stuff overnight. Some people think that tea is worse for you, because green tea has A LOT more caffeine then black coffee. But also people consider it to be healthy because it's all herbal and is good for the body because of the greens. So all-in-all, it there's no really big differences, it just depends upon your taste.

I wake up to a cappacino and go to bed with a peppermint tea EVERY DAY/NIGHT
they are both great but serve entirely different purposes-in my life anyway.
coffee wakes me up and stimulates me in the groggy hours of early am. I love the taste of bitter coffee with milk warmed just right and lots of froth. Mmmm
the act of drinking tea is calming for me. Because its so hot it has to be sipped slowly and the mint is just really soothing. It also settles my stomach from dinner and just the whole days eating.
Coffee, herbal tea, wine and water are naturally the best beverages out there in my opinion
