I just got a prescription filled and the pill in the bottle says Mylan. The drug on the bottle says Nitrofurantoin-marco is anyone familiar with this drug??

I'm a pharmacy tech...Mylan is a drug manufacturer. Nitrofurantion is the generic equivalient for Macrobid or Macrodantin. They are usually prescribed for UTIs. Don't be afraid to take it...you got the right thing. Mylan is the drug company that manufactured the nitrofurantoin.

Nitrofurantoin-macro is the generic drug used on MACROBID, a medicine to treat urinary tract infections (UTI), manufactured by Mylan laboratories. I'd recommend that you do some homework on this drug because many people have experienced quite nasty side effects.

Call your druggist, you were probably giving a generic drug, which is cheater, and just as good.

Its a Generic....most pills taht start with N are....but not all..
