It depends on how far along she is. early in the pregnancy where there is planty of room, the baby can lay all different ways. By the end of the pregnancy, NORMALLY the baby turns head down and normally stays that way, althought that is not always the case. When the baby remains heads up,This is called a breech presentation and can sometimes be a reason for a c section, as the baby really really should be born head first.

The position of the baby isn't the same for every woman, and really doesn't matter until about six or seven months. Around that time, the baby has grown so much that it is very cramped inside of the womb, and is harder for it to move to the birthing position, which should be head down. The baby can still turn, and can also be turned by a physician.

Babies constantly move during gestation. However, when the baby becomes too large to move freely inside the uterus, it is best for the baby's head to be near the cervix in order to prepare for birth. Some babies, though, do not turn until days or even hours before birth. Some babies never turn and this is what they call a breach birth, where the baby comes out feet or butt first.

It depends on how far along you are in your pregnancy. Generally, babies start out feet down, leaving the head up in the abodmen, but they can somersault and flip-flop. Around the third trimester, they start to drop, which means the head is towards the vagina. My gyno even said they could feel the head when they were checking for dilation. If you are curious, you can always ask your ob-gyn. They usually can point it out for you. Congratulations!

the baby's head is typically only facing down to the vagina when the woman is in labor, however some women do deliever breech; meaning the feet or something other than the head, is birthed first.

during early stages, the baby is swiming and changing positions but as it matures and unless she is breech (head up); the normal position is head down and legs to your thorax
