you could find a person who was a totally "blank slate." He/she has never had any exposure to religion of any type. What do you think their response would be if they were presented both Christian and Muslim beliefs? Understand...this is not about what YOU would do. It's about the hypothetical "blank slate".

Ahh... the "Tabula Rasa" or blank slate... I believe we all could only wish for that. We are imprinted by age three. But... let's just play...

If you came to me with Christianity, Islam, or a theology that stated the world is carried on the back of a turtle (valid native american belief), I imagine I would call you insane, leave your presence, and gossip about you to all of my friends!

Ok... maybe not the gossip part... cause no one would understand a word of what I was talking about! But... you get the drift... it all sounds insane when heard by someone without familiarity.

Enjoy! It was an engaging question.

They would probably wonder why you needed all of the hoops to jump through when the God or truth that you are trying to reach is all around you. Why complicate things like Adam and Eve did? They did not have realigion at all. What they had was a relationship with the creator. Religions have all been born as a way to get back in fellowship with Truth/God. The problem is that nobody is going to jump through all of the hoops that the originators of a religion did. It like me meeting God and him delivering me back into fellowship with Himself. Should I start a religion that insist that you do the same drugs I did and He will find you? That would be a new religion and people would get more hung up on the approach then the destination. the reason being is that you would realize when yu got there that the drugs and alcohol were not necessary. God did not make me high to get me saved from my old nature. He used my addiction to get me headed to himself. It was not an easy journey, because it was alone and not in fellowship witrh other believers, it was me, jumping around in celeration that I had found God;.Do you think that because I did it then you should too as a way of getting down the road. I think not. Surrender all and let god have you. He will bring yu home and your life will never be the same. Jesus is coming soon so hang on just a little longer.

Blank slate does not make a whole lot of sense. let's say he was raised in world which was just as advance as today's world, you know...technologically and scientifically but without being brain washed with the phenomenon called religion... then...
he would simply be equally amazed by the idea of people foolishly believing in either of them- i mean any religion.
because for him it would be so obvious to understand that any religion simply does not agree with any of scientific theories.
it takes nothing more then a little common sense to know that there is no such thing as "GOD".

Blank slate that is unclear? Are they smart and know about the world just religion was not a part of it? Or do they need education from the start? IF they have any knowledge of what superstitions are. Know basics of science!! They would reject both.!!!!!

How blank is this slate? It would have to blank even of culture. Otherwise he/she would choice the response that fits most closely with the culture that they knew. One is not void of the other.

Given the blank slate (i.e. no baclground knowledge) they would probably be equally disposed to believe both, on initial presentation of the idea. Further research and questioning would be required for the person to make a more informed, logical decision, assuming the neccessary dichotomy of choice.

Since none of us is a "blank slate," how can we possibly give an objective answer to your question?

It might depend on how interested they are in spiritual matters. If only mildly, they would probably tend toward the belief that was presented in the way that made them feel good.

If seriously, then hopefully they would seek God, not religion, and go where He leads.

I suppose they would have to be blind too. All they would need to do is look at nature and God would reveal Himself.
