Amen. Exactly right. I've never had an apoplectic fit looking at a menorah or a kinara. The nativity scene is not offensive. Live with it.

A private business can do whatever it pleases. I really don't care. Some of my neighbors decorate their homes religiously and it looks nice. I don't have a problem with that--I like that they take pride in how their yard looks.
But when our government-owned courthouse allowed all of the different decorations for each religion that celebrates a holiday this time of year, it was tacky. There was just too many of them and they didn't have enough room. But since they okay'd one, they had to accept all religious decorations equally. It was a disaster and I'm glad they learned from it to keep things secular. Our city is just too diverse to be able to display each religion in our area equally. And we all deserve equal treatment by our government, don't we?

Nobody cares about that. Private businesses can display religious stuff if they choose to. Some employees might feel that they should have input into it, and some customers may choose to patronize another institution or business, but in case you really haven't been paying attention here: We don't care.
What we care about is using public funds for religious displays.
AND we care about ya'll trying to promote a religious agenda in our schools, and requiring some sort of statement about the exitence of "God" in order to hold pugblic office in some states, and so on.
Enjoy the creche at your bank.
I don't care one way or the other about it.
And a Blessed Yule to you and yours!

I'm not a big organized religion person, however respecting people's beliefs of Christmas is a part of our culture practiced by most people in one way or another. Why do you appear upset about other people's beliefs? Your Wiccan whatever, k. Not cool. If you are asking for a little respect, give a little tolerance. Peace

Yes a scene depicting a woman having a child, conceived while married but not the husband's, is something I want to explain to my children at the bank. o.O
Hey I know you believe in that crap but we don't........the truth is she got pregnant and not with the help of her husband. Just because she said God did it and in his grief he said he saw something to confirm her story, doesn't change it.
EDIT: That sounds a lot more hostile than I intended it to be but I won't change it. I have nothing against your nativity scene but I wanted to make a point that there is more than one way to look at the issue.

If you have it placed right out in full view in a public place, then how are people passing by it suppose to NOT look at it? Should we run past it with our eyes closed?

If I closed my eyes I'd end up walking into the building, so I have no choice.

I won't complain about the Nativity at your bank, but if they put one on the courthouse lawn, I'm calling the ACLU.

You mean you won't look at a xmas tree, mistletoe, or wreath?
You must walk around with your eyes closed a lot.
