There's this girl I've been doing...dropping her a few bucks every now and then....because I thought she was on crack. But now I find out she's just an alcoholic and I feel kind of bad. I'm not sure why??? I think a crackwhor* somehow deserves a few bucks for her services....but an alcoholic should do it for free. I think I've been cheated

A drug is a drug. It doesn't matter what the addiction is, your monkey is the monkey of your choice. Do you find the crack-hound more appealing than the booze-hound? Is it the image? The person?
There is nothing wrong with helping someone. Just look at the person. You know they have a habit so try not to make distinctions unless the habit makes the person do bad things (stealing, for instance). Notice the person behind the myth.

There is no difference between alcohol and drug problems. They are serious addictions either way. This girl has some serious problems and you helping her with her habit is not the nicest thing to do. I would stay away from her and let her get herself together.
