your local tattoo and piercing parlor. dont go to those stores in the mall like claires, icing, and piercing pagoda, they lack selection of jewellry, and most importantly they are NOT clean. those girls who work there are not professional, and I've never seen any of them wash their hands before the procedure. proper piercing utensils should be autoclaved properly therefore the needles used to pierce are sterile. versus the piercing guns used at the mall that are wiped with alcohol....different needles designated for different piercings. also do not go to wal-mart my sister went there and she was NOT pleased with the result....they were visibily crooked. Plus, Piercers are liscenced professionals and know what they are doing. Choosing a clean, reputable piercer ensures that you will have a quality ear piercing, done safely, clean, and under government guidelines. It may cost a little more, BUT you should never be cheap about tattoos, piercings and stuff like that even something as simple as an ear piercing. because if done incorrectly...it can cause a nasty infection....and sometimes permanent scarring.

well first of all getting it done at a cheap shop in the mall IS NOT PROFESSIONAL! although i got my lobes pierced at a cheap place. they did get infected and eneded up taking them otu and had to get them redone. guns are not completely sterilized and ar more prone to giving you an infection and transmit even hepatitis. they are not trained to pierce as a girl above stated.....guns also cause unneccessay pain and a longer healing period and do not give you the proper aftercare.
my suggestion is to "do your homeowrk" and look in the yellow pages and find a few local tattoo/piering shops aroudn you. call around. visit the piercer ask them question liek how long have you been piercing do you have your license, do you use a new needle everytime, ect... they use a hollow needle it makes a clean cut through the skin insteacd of pushing it aside liek a gun does. and the needles take a lot less for the healing process.
good luck!

Go to a tattoo and piercing shop (not just one that's nearby, find a clean and reputable one). Try Citysearch, I think people rate their experiences with different tattooists and piercers. An easy and cheap solution is to do it at the mall but I've had five holes done there (four lobe holes, two of them closed up, and a cartilage) and they all got at least slightly infected. One of them leaked pus for weeks...gross, I know. It's always a bad idea to have a gun jam a blunt object into your ear (like begging for an infection). However when I did two others by myself with a clean needle (cartilage and conch) they were perfectly fine and healed up quickly. So try a tattoo and piercing shop!

Take mine and other's advice and go to a tattoo shop. The reason you shouldn't go into a place at the mall is because I used to work at one. Although I did a wonderful job at piercing ears with many satisfied friends and customers, I had no training whatsoever. The person that trained me drew little dots on a piece of paper and had me practice on that. Also, all I was trained to do was clean their ear w/ alcohol. I know that professional piercers know exactly what they're doing and exactly how to keep it sanitary. Save up a few extra bucks and go to a professional.

Most chemists, hairdressers and piercing parlours will have qualified ear piercers. Some variety stores even have ear piercers occassionally on duty. Call around and find a similar store closest to your home. You should check out their piercing area before getting it done. Make sue they're wearing rubber gloves, and have all th sanitary cleaning equipment before you commit.
I've been to some dodgy places that have claimed they are 'qualified', and many are in nice places, like chemists and such. It's just that they didn't have the right procedures... One place wasn't even wearing gloves.

do no longer bypass to CLAIRE'S! i'm sorry, yet do you fairly want a 17 3 hundred and sixty 5 days piercing you? bypass to a tattoo parlor/piercing parlor. or you additionally can bypass to you healthcare expert. That way, it particularly is sterile and risk-free.
