My wife gave birth almost one year ago to the day. To this day she has no desire for sex or affection. She does not like to have sex. We have had sex no more than 15 times in the last year. Does anybody have any advice or a website I could visit for more information.

This is very common. I actually am in her shoes. Did she have a vaginal birth? any tearing? scarring? That could totally diminish her sex drive. Does she get adequate help around the house? with the baby? Is she depressed? How are other things in your marriage? Does she masturbate, and can she reach orgasm that way? Does she reach climax when having intercourse? If you answered negatively to any of the above questions, then your wife needs to seek medical advice. You both may benefit from sexual therapy. My son was born without a soft spot, and I gave birth in the car, on the side of the road, in a severe storm. So, you can imagine what I have to work through. Give her your total love and support. Let her know your love everyday.
Good luck!

It's great that you are looking for help- a healthy sex life is important for both of you, as is an understanding of each others' needs. There is a national organization dedicated to helping people with sexual concerns. Visit www.aasect.org - it is the site of the American Association of Sex Educaors, Counselors, and Therapists. A good book is Sex Matters for Women by sex therapist Sallie Foley.

Give her time to be herself, not a mother or a wife. And do it often. And don't get an attitude about it later, especially if she doesn't give you any. Show her in other ways that you love her besides in the bedroom. Don't make her fell pressured. And a big one is to get a babysitter for a few hours and take her to dinner and a movie. Or out dancing. There are lots of things you can do for her to get her back into the groove.
