I reinstalled Microsoft Explorer 6 as I didn't want all that confusing information on my screen

Yes, many does not like IE7 interface. But still IE7 is better browser than IE6. So, I recommend that you install IE7 if you are to use any internet explorer.
But my honest suggestion is the use alternate browsers like opera(www.opera.com) or firefox(www.firefox.com). I personally feel that Opera is the best and has best security track record(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_web_browsers#Vulnerabilities ).
Definitely worth a try for opera.
here is the best part. You can chage the way opera looks using skins. So, you can make it look like IE6 which you are familiar to. But still take advantage of the great browser.
Give it a thought and might change the way you browse internet.

Multiple problems with Explrer7. Mozillafirefox. Less security risk.

Ie 7 corrupted files on my pc to the point i had to reformatt the whole thing.. I refuse to use IE anyways.. i will not upgrade till i get a pc with vista on it.. I use firefox and love it

IE7 sux!!! Download Mozilla Firefox it's faster and more reliable and less security risks. Plus you can dl skins as well.

i do not like ie 7 either, if u upgrade to vista next year you will have use ie 7

basically i got used to it. i hate my text not being like it was. but the tabs are a little bit of getting used to
