Currently the top three causes of worldwide death are heart disease, stroke, respiratory infections. AIDS is number four right now with 2.8 million deaths, but is set to fill the number 3 slot fairly soon. By the year 2030, AIDS cases could reach 120 million!

BTW, are you asking about the worldwide top three causes of death, or the U.S. top three causes??

According to the CDC the leading causes of death in the US are:

1. Heart Disease- 654,092
2. Cancer- 550,270

The answer varies widely depending on the geographic area(USA, Angola etc...) and the age group (0-1yr, 90-100yr etc...)

Do you mean from just diseases or from accidents also? Do you want to include murder and suicide?
