you should consider seeing someone(even your dr) sooner than next week to get started on antibiotics.

Hello. Do you have a lump on your gum? If you do that may be an abscess. If not, you may just have an infection. A Dentist and antibiotics are necessary. My tried and true remedy is Listerine. It hurts really bad, but kills everything and numbs the pain. I let it sit on the affected tooth for about 1 minute, then spit. Like I said though it does burn. Good luck.

what i use is cloves. or anise seeds.
place on tooth and bite down [not hard] and within a few seconds the pain is gone and this also helps for infection.
youcan get cloves at your nearest grocery store. sometimes you can find them in plastic bage for a dollar or so [plus tax].
cheaper than over the counter drugs!!
works for me anyway!!
or maybe even the clove oil which is also good.
or sometimes you can do the same with a bayer aspirin. and it is also good for infection.

you can't get out the infection but you can use a pain reliever for the swelling and pain. infection of the gums is possible. for example ginivitis, ulcers of the mouth, etc. and if you can't stand it go to the emergency room and go through all the crap to get a antibiotic.

Use some of the products used on babies to kill the pain when teething.
Sorry it has been so long since my kids were babies that I don't know the names of them now. I think oil of clove was one. Ask the druggist what is good.

Try to take Mefenamic acid tablet. It will minimize your swelling and pain. But dont forget to go to your dentist on schedule. By the way, you can call your dentist now and ask him/her if mefenamic acid tab is ok for you.
