I'm in a lot of advanced classes and I've noticed that a lot of kids in my class are left-handed. Does using your left hand or both make you intelligent or improves your IQ?

Hmmmm ... it's difficult to say. Maybe people who are left handed are smarter since they have to learn to cope in a world made for right handed people.

While there is an unresolved debate within the scientific community on how to operationalize both intelligence and creativity, some studies have demonstrated a small positive correlation between left-handedness and creativity/intelligence. In his book Right-Hand, Left-Hand, Chris McManus of University College London, argues that the proportion of left-handers is rising and left-handed people as a group have historically produced an above-average quota of high achievers. He says that left-handers' brains are structured differently in a way that widens their range of abilities, and the genes that determine left-handedness also govern development of the language centres of the brain.

I hope this helps.

I am a left-handed myself, and during my school time, I do being "classified" as smart. I don't need to study hard during exam, yet I got Distinctions for several subjects. But generally I feel that people always feel that left-handed are smarter as they always can look at things at different prospective, able to think out of the box. But they are not good in memorise things, thus normally not so good on subjects like Language, History and etc. This is particulars true for my case.

I don't know. Didn't there used to be a stigma against left handed kids. My Dad says he was made to use his right hand in elementary school rather than his left for some reason. hmmm...

No, actually, not at all.
whatever hand you use just depends on what hand you chose to use for coloring and writing when you were a toddler.
Not how smart you are.
I mean, my mom is right handed, and one day she just showed me how to write my name, and I just copied her.
No big deal.

hmm... i wouldn't know myself... i think it has nothing to do with being left- or right-handed, though. it's how determined an individual is to succeed in life, and how focused they are to complete their goals step by step in order to work towards their dream... :)

so maybe you could say that left-handed people have more hardships in life? and they learned to handle them early in life so they're where they are now...
