he has my number and i think that he likes me but all of his friends say that he is very shy and i don't know what to do because i dont like to just wait i like to move on.

Talk to him, smile a lot , be friendly to him. Once he feels comfortable around you he'll open up

I am shy myself, and I really didnt do much about it when i got my boyfriend, BUT.
If you let him know... or at least give him a CLUE that you DO like him as well, He might do something, Trust me I know my boyfriend very well and he used to tell me that no matter how shy or how straight foward a guy is. . HE wont act until he has at least ONE point to his favor. Like you giving him a HINT... This would make him more "SURE" about you and he wouldn't feel fear about even TRYING to ask you. If he does know he'll try a bit or a lot.

Sometimes little boys will be very shy because they are scared that you or your friends my laugh at him if he does come up to you and tell's you that he would really like to spend some more time with you.Maybe you should catch him alone,away from his friends and yours and you go up to him and tell him something that he did ,that you thought was really cool.that should break the ice and he will like you more because you think he's cool.....

I would try to be nice to him and talk to him maybe in short conversations. You might also find out what interests he has and you could talk to him about that. Give him a little time and don't push him...he may just have to have time to get use to you.

Like all of us your friend is afraid of rejection. Like....." what if I talk to her and she tells me I'm an idiot. " that sort of thing. Is there any way of getting a message to him thru the " friends underground" so to speak? Let him know you would welcome his call and that you would like to talk to him. Hope this helps.
