I'm not really sure what sort of things to use on my face, how much, when, and where. I am only 13 years old and i have mild acne. About a week ago I started to apply BP and my face stated getting dry. Yesteday I bought the Rapid Clear face lotion from Neutrogena with salicitic acid( i'm not sure how to spell it) in it. Today I woke up and my face is completely dry, and flaky all over! it's discusting and hideous. I'm guessing maybe i have sensative skin. Please Help!

oh honey! this is the best routine and i guarentee wonderful results of clear, supple skin!:

bp and salicitic acid will definitely dry out your face. the chemicals are very harsh. the dryer your skin is, the more your oil glands will react to remoisturize your face and they will product too much oil, causing more pimples! i suggest the routine i used to treat my mild breakouts as a teenager. first wash your face with a mild soap. glycerine rinses clean and is a natural moisturizer. then take a wash cloth and run it under warm to hot water. hold the cloth over your face and the heat will open your pores, allowing them to naturally drain out impurities and clogged puss. the heat is relaxing and feels amazing! keep reheating the cloth as it cools and reapplying until your skin feels purified. now that your pores are open and drained, dry your face and apply witch hazel, which is a natural astringent and much cheaper than the chemical astringents you buy at drug stores. whipe it on with a cotton ball. this completely cleans out the pore and moisturizes your skin. follow up with a light moisturizer with sunscreen and you're good to go for the day! or put on a lighter night cream. sorry i don't know if you're male or female, so if you wear makeup, wait about 10 minutes at the least unti your pores close again to put on foundation, etc. because you don't want that getting into your open pores. for spot treatment if you already have a pimple, apply tea tree oil. it's moisturizing but it will naturally "dry out" the pimple and help it heal. if you have an unsightly blemish that you picked open, use neosporin at night to speed the healing process.

Sounds you do have sensitive skin and always remember that when shopping for products.

If you have mild acne you may want to use gentle cleansers that don't containt the salicylic acid and see how you do. Otherwise you may want to try more natural brands (go to drugstore.com and clinck on the "natural" tab and look under "natural skincare") that utilize things like tea tree oil etc. for problematic skin.

If you are experiencing dryness you may have to follow up with a good moisturizer. Neutrogena has some good lines of stuff for sensitive skin. But you may have to be open to trying new things and see what works for you. I find that with my skin I have to avoid washing it too much and use face wash 1-2x/day and always follow up with moisturizing toner (non-alcoholic) and a light facial lotion (nothing too creamy or heavy).

attempt making use of the scrub in straight forward words each and every 10 days or so. Scrubs will make oily epidermis produce better oil because it really is stimulating the pores. Tone once an afternoon. If those dont help attempt making use of a mind-set of eliminating. end making use of each and every thing say on a friday then commence with a million product. If that is effective introduce the subsequent until eventually you've both got here across whats drying out your epidermis or you've used all of them. it would want to correctly be you're making use of them too usually (eg. the toner). Or attempt professional-energetic

Salicylic acid may be too harsh for you. I recommend a mild astringent such as Sea Breeze or Witch Hazel. You may want to consider Avon's Anew skin care line. They have several regimens to choose from, including for those with sensitive skin.

Try Shiseido. It will totally change the texture of your skin. http://www.shiseido.co.jp/e/index.htm It is a bit expensive but it REALLY works. If money is not an issue try Le Mer http://www.cremedelamer.com/home.tmpl?ngextredir=1 it is WONDERFUL! Not only will it help your skin now it will help get rid of the old scars and redness that acne can cause.
Good Luck

My skin is similar - very sensitive to almost all products. I had to see a dermatologist to put me on a personalized skin care plan. See if your parents will set an appointment for you. If they have insurance for you, that should take care of the costs.
