The word "virgin" was a translation from an Aramaic word which may also mean "young". That Virgin thing said about Mary, the mother of Jesus was a big ploy to make everything about him a miracle. Mary was an obedient subject of God and so was Joseph. Jesus cannot claim in Rev. 22:16 That he is the Root and offspring of David if he was not the son of Joseph. Joseph came from the line of Jesse, the father of David. However, Catholics claimed his coming out of the womb of Mary was the same as his entering the door to meet with his apostles when he rose from the dead. Buy it or not, that is their claim.

I'm an athiest and I don't believe in the virgin birth. But here's how: What makes a girl a virgin is that she has not had sexual intercourse. She may or may not have an intact hymen. Even if she did have an intact hymen it would rupture during delivery. For instance, with modern science, we could take a virgin woman who has never had sex before, and give her a shot of some donated semen, and she would then be a pregnant virgin... and then the baby would come out, and it would not matter if she'd never had a penis in there or not. Does that make it clear to you? Things can come out of and go into 'You know what" whether a girl is a virgin or not

the conception is where the beginning of life happens. and not at the birth. so, Jesus being pure / being God in the flesh,
He needed a conception that was ABSOLUTELY pure and Holy and without sin.
since Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, that disobedience there that they yeilded to, that brought sin into the world. and sin begins at conception. the beginning of all life.
Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit.
Since Jesus, the Holy Spirit are GOD. It isnt hard to understand that there is absolutely NOTHING that God can not do.
The Holy Spirit entered into Mary, and caused her to become pregnaunt. it is quite a awlesome miracle !!
and since the Holy Spirit did this, Jesus, when He was born, was born without sin. and Mary was still a virgin.
The Bible states that Joesph, her husband, didnt do anything with her until after Jesus had been born.
Just so he wouldnt defile her in any way. He respected her Virginity and respected Gods will for Jesus to be concieved and born in this manner.
hope this helps you

I agree w/ u 100%...Religion & Science can never sit a the same table. Every eukaryotic life (mammals, evas, reptiles, amphibians, plants, fungi & protozoans) is being born through the fertilization of eggs & sperms, except bacteria by conjugation of (+) & (-) pili. Even some self-fertilized plants & fungi have both parts male & female in order to create a new life. For mammal in general & human in specific is impossible for a woman to impregnate herself by herself unless she has both a functional penis & a functional vagina. Should this phenomenon ever occur then it wouldn't be called as a woman but something else, wouldn't it.

Just another part of the magical fairy tale that was added after Jesus's birth at the Edict of Mycanea to help turn Jesus from a man, who was not worth worshipping, into a God like figure worthy of worship. The pagan church at the time married the two religions to each other to help end violence at the time. In order for the pagans to be happy they had to make Jesus into a "God", as the pagans were used to worshipping. Until this time, Jesus's followers regarded him strictly as a man who spoke the word of God, a prophet.

Religious view being that she was impregnated by the "Spirit." It was a miracle.
If you're not of the religious faith, maybe you'd understand better comparing it to virgins now-a-days...they mess around, the guy gets some on her, and viola! She's preggers.

The number one rule of religion is to believe, not to ask questions like this one !
In his childhood Einstein felt deep religiosity until he realized that many things in the Bible could not possibly be true. He came to conclusion that authorities deliberately mislead the youth, so he steered away from religion and found his 'liberation' in science as we all well know.

Something coming out of your crotch does not justifiy someone not being a virgin. So are you one of the people who think when a virgin uses a tampon, she is no longer a virgin, hahhahahahaha. Laughable. How about a virgin who gets artifically inseminated, does that make her no longer a virgin? To lose your virginity a penis needs to be inserted into a vagina! Same speach I gave my kids!

The same likeness of the first human being on Earth.
Wow, you just gave me an Epiphany! That's why the Quran states that here birth was very painful.
Quran [19:22]
"The pains of labour drove her to the trunk of a date-palm tree.
She said, "Oh if only I had died before this time and was something disgarded and forgotten!!!"
