My mother is like 50 and she still has acne scars, and my dad's face is invaded with warts, skin tags, and deep wrinkles. Should I tell them to treat their skin problems to prevent further damage? It tears my heart to see their youthful appearance go down the drain. And on top of that, I don't think they're too happy about their skin either.

First of all, try to not focus on your parent's physical shortcomings and DEFINITELY do not say anything about them. If you do this they will always be extremely self-conscience about their appearance around you. Most people want to believe that their loved ones are accepting of their physical flaws. I understand your heart break but they may not have the financial means to have facial rejuvenation treatments. If they do then fear could be an issue. I am 45 and have so far been blessed with decent skin even though I have had a lot of sun exposure---and I pray it lasts. Still, there are a few creases on my face and I certainly hope people aren't focusing on these when they talk to me.

They're 50 let them be, if they are unhappy they would do something about it. Wart and skin tags could be removed by a dermatologist, but if the're not cancerous you should leave well enough alone. After the cutting they end up with scars anyway and at their age skin has lost its collagen and won't spring back anymore, so what's the sense.

I think it's a good thing that you care about your parents. But it all depends on the sort of relationship you have with them. If you're super close, then just bring it up subtly one day or suprise them one day with a gift certificate at a spa that does facials. There are many ways of doing this without insulting your folks. Good luck and be nice!

leave them alone, take care of yourself, smoking is a huge cause of skin aging . skin tags are inherited so watch it, and scars are not going to ever go away. leave people alone and deal with yourself.
